WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR LEADERS?!

Recently we are having fuel scarcity in major cities across Nigeria at a time we will be having a transition to a new government on May 29th, 2015. Major oil marketers are holding the nation to ransom and the outgoing government seem not to care. The long queues are back. Road transport users are increasing their fares and making life unbearable for the common man. Most state governments are yet to pay state workers their April salaries and they are pointing fingers at the Federal Government. They have stolen state funds to run their election campaigns at the detriment of the people and now they are pointing fingers at each other like children.

Did we place these people to make things easier for us or did they get there to satisfy their pockets? Most of these fools have built substandard infrastructures in their states and they are being celebrated by the indigenes living in these states. The minister of aviation labeled the Asaba airport in Delta State as substandard but the state government spent billions of dollars building that airport. The Akwa Ibom State government, built infrastructures everywhere but the one that makes me mad is the stadium he built in the rural areas in that state. The state football club Akwa Ibom United, play in the Uyo township stadium and nobody, even the Super Eagles play any match there. The last match that was played there in which we lost 1-0 to the cranes of Uganda, the stadium was virtually empty. Why build things that people would not use? Why do we allow these fools in government steal from us?

Last week I visited the state liaison offices of some states on Victoria Island in Lagos and you believe that most of these states have converted their liaison offices into residential apartments. And nobody is asking questions. People are being paid for doing nothing, wasting our valuable resources. Most of these states even own football clubs and this is a sure means of siphoning state funds and making sure that the boys feed fat.

Most we continue to allow these fools steal from us? We need to party politics in Nigeria. This is the only way we can checkmate these politicians and stop them from stealing our money. The parties they are in is just a front for them to be involved in organised stealing and corruption. When we have independent candidates, nobody will steal from state and federal funds to sponsor all their party candidates. Yet INEC is not checkmating these parties. Both the APC and the PDP, steal from state funds to sponsor the parties. We must also insist that each candidates runs a single tenure and not stand to be re-elected to any position.

APC VS PDP: 2015 ELECTIONS AND BOTHERING ISSUES AT HAND.

Nigeria will go to the polls on 14th February 2015. Already our clueless political leadership have already polarized the nation. Well meaning Nigerians are already scared that if this elections are not well handled, we might enter a conflict far worse than we last experienced during the civil war and the post June 12, 1993 crisis. The elections must hold and the winner or winners must take over. I just hope that the tribe were the looser comes from won’t take matters into their own hands, even though the north through boko haram has done so for the past several years.

My take on this elections is simple, we need to #Banpartypoliticsinnigeria as soon as possible. We need to get rid of these unfortunate political party affiliations in Nigeria. The people in these parties are only interested in their own selfish interests. They will not provide solutions to our problems and I swear, they are all having a good time watching us fight each other, while they make their plans on how to manage the scenario of losing the elections.

Buhari and Tinubu

Buhari and Tinubu

The APC was a party that I had hoped would deliver Nigerians from this “feast of the locusts” the PDP has placed us into. But alas, that is not to be. PDP governors who drifted to that party, have messed things up. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is always a determining factor in the APC and I don’t think things would work out for Nigerians if that party and Tinubu comes into power. Tinubu is a selfish and corrupt individual and who thinks he is the re-incarnation of Awolowo, that he thinks he can defend and propagate the yoruba agenda in Nigeria. All what Tinubu wants is the  power and if anything should happen to Buhari, Tinubu will ensure that a yoruba man replaces him and they (yorubas) would stay there for another 8 years. This is unacceptable to Nigerians. But this is their plan. Why place a yoruba as the vice presidential candidate of the APC? The president comes from the Niger Delta and didn’t Tinubu find it wise to select the vice presidential candidate from that region? The argument that the yorubas or the south west make up the majority of that party holds no ground to me.

The APC also stated that they would provide free medical health care for Nigerians. What we need is subsidized quality health care services through the health insurance scheme. My late mum died in the Lagos State Teaching Hospital in 2011 and the Lagos State government led by the APC have been offering free medical services fro Lagosians. My mum was at the point of death but the medical staff were reluctant to try to assist us in resuscitating her. And she died. We took her to the emergency ward but they didn’t do their job. The doctor was more interested in protecting  his job. Is that the level of professionalism they intend to introduce to the Nigerian health care system by offering Nigerians free medical health care that is unrealizable? Governor Fashola even sacked lagos doctors because they went on strike, remember.

The Lagos APC led government also has turned Lagos youths into touts by allowing these lagos youths join the NURTW, to collect money on lagos roads. So the best way the APC government would create jobs is to turn Nigerian youths into touts. The APC will never provide opportunities for the youths because in all the state they rule, they have turned the Nigerian youth to beggars. My problem is that, they enacted a law created LASTMA but this same organisation has not solved the problem on our roads but are more interested in revenue collection day in, day out. Yet we have long traffic jams that last for hours on Nigerian roads. These NURTW people collect huge sums of money from transporters everyday and yet, we don’t know what they use the money to do everyday. We know that these monies are transported to Bourdillon, Ikoyi and not Government house in Alausa, Ikeja. Lagosians are being taxed everyday and yet the Lagos government can’t show us what they use the money to do. Pipe borne water is a fallacy in lagos. Are they waiting for GEJ to provide that for them? Most of the roads they have built have started deteriorating and it has been less than four years they built it. Yes Fashola might have done well, but his best is not good enough.

The PDP under Goodluck Jonathan hasn’t done well either. He allowed his ministers to have so much powers that they have taken this country for a ride. His ministers are corrupt and arrogant. The worst of them all is the petroleum minister. These people are not elected people and I don’t understand the reason why they should be given such powers. Also, the way GEJ handled the insurgency crisis in the north has been poor. He is a knee jerk president. After declaring a state of emergency, he ought to have replaced the sitting governors and other elected individuals with military administrators. I don’t know if that would have stopped the insurgency but that is the way it has been done even when Tafawa Balewa first declared such an emergency in Nigeria. I don’t think GEJ has handled our economy well. Forget about the GDP rebasing. It doesn’t mean anything to the common Nigerian in the street as long as he can’t have three square meals a day, shelter, good paying job or earning income and security. The best way is to engage in speedy and aggressive infrastructural development all across the nation. GEJ has done well in some areas. We have some good roads. He has also rebuilt our dead railway industry. How I wish he could have handled the issue of corruption then I won’t be confused on who to vote for.

My take on all of this is that, I would have voted for Buhari if he had no links with Tinubu. We must never allow Tinubu to get his hands on the big cake or else Nigerians will be doomed forever. GEJ to me might deserve a second term but the arrogant way his ministers have handled his administration doesn’t encourage us to give him FOUR MORE YEARS! He must prosecute them if he wins the election. We must ban party politics in Nigeria and allow everybody who thinks he can be a better president to contest for elections and allow Nigerian elect those they want to elected offices. This would enable people like Tinubu never to have that chance to select people and force them on Nigerians and Lagosians to vote for. Support #Banpartypoliticsinnigeria.
