NIGERIA’S ELECTRICITY SITUATION, A NIGHTMARE – FG!

The federal government of Nigeria has acknowledged that on 25% of Nigerians had access to electricity despite the huge investment in the power sector.

After wednesdays Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the new minister of power Prof Chinedu Nebo, told newsmen that the power situation in the country in the last three weeks had been a “nightmare” due to a combination of system failure and sabotage.

The minister of state of power, Hajia Zainab Kuchi, said out of the estimated population of 160 million, only 40 million Nigerians enjoyed electricity, arguing that with the investment in the sector, but that would increase soon for the better.

Prof Nebo alleged that there were no provision for maintenance in the budget and routine maintenance is difficult to carry out. Why won’t that be the case when PHCN workers are the ones who are sabotaging the FG nd Nigerians. Barth Nnaji, would be laughing his head off for being sacked as the power minister by President Jonathan’s administration.
