how to start a small farm business.

how to start a small farm business.

Are you’re thinking about starting a farm? This guide is here to help you take initial steps.

We provide an overview of the topic of starting a farm and point you in the direction of free information and resources to help you get started.

This guide is primarily oriented toward small farm operations.

It’s Complicated!: Starting a farm is complicated because it encompasses so much. In no particular order, farmers must consider business planning, finding land, securing financing, marketing, production knowledge, securing equipment, developing or securing infrastructure, and their vision for their farm, a product of their values, knowledge and experience.

What to Consider?

  • Vision and Values: A farm is both an extension of the vision and values of the individual(s) who start(s) it, and it has to be carefully planned to make sure that it fits within that vision as well as within the particular confines of the place where it is established.
  • Place Matters: Direct market farms typically aren’t well suited for the rural heartland, and rice farming is not going to be successful on the arid plains of Eastern Washington. These are extreme examples, but there are important subtleties to every market and every plot of land.
  • Planning: New farms need to have a well designed business plan that takes into consideration individual infrastructure and financial needsthe viability of marketing strategies, and the farmer’s production capacity and knowledge.
  • Education and Experience: Preparation, knowledge, and training are essential. But so is being able adapt quickly to the unexpected, to persevere when factors beyond one’s control conspire against you, and knowing how/when/what/where to expend time, energy, and resources.
  • Managing risk: It is helpful to plan careful to manage risk through diversification, financial management, and the ability to withstand a couple of bad years.
  • Start small: For most beginning farmers, we advise starting small to allow time for details to be worked out, for additional learning to occur, and to mitigate the size and scope of problems that will inevitably arise.

The above is offered here not to discourage, but to encourage careful, thoughtful planning.

Farming system is a decision making unit comprising the farm household, cropping and livestock system that transform land, capital and labour into useful products that can be consumed or sold or

Farming system is a resource management strategy to achieve economic and sustained production to meet diverse requirement to farm household while presenting resources base and maintaining a high level environmental quality.

They interact adequately with environment without dislocating the ecological and socio-economic balance on the one hand and attempt to meet the national goal on the other.

Farming system consist of several enterprises like cropping system, dairying, piggery, poultry, fishery, bee, keeping etc. these enterprises are interrelated. The end product and wastes of one enterprise are used as inputs in others. The waste of dairying like dung, urine, refuse etc. is used for preparation of FYM, which is an input in cropping systems. The straw obtained from the crops is used as fodder for cattle’s are used for different field operations for growing crops. Thus different enterprises of farming systems are highly interrelated.

Farming system is a complex inter related matrix of soil plants, animals, implements, power labour, capital and other inputs controlled in parts by farming families and influenced to varying degree by political, economic, institutional and socials forces that operate at many levels. Thus farming system is the result of a complex interaction among a number of interdependent components. To achieve it, the individual farmer allocates and qualities of four factors of production. Land, labour, capital and management, which has access to processes like management which has crop, livestock and off farm enterprises in a manner, which within the knowledge he possess will maximize the attainment of goal he is striving for.

Income through arable farming alone is insufficient for bulk of the marginal farmers. The other activities such as dairying, poultry, sericulture, apiculture, fisheries etc. assume critical importance in supplementing their farm income.

Livestock rising along with crop production is the traditional mixture of activities of the farmer all over the country, only the nature and extent various from region to region. It fits well with farm level infrastructure, small land base and abundant labour of small man and ensures full utilization of by products.

Farming system approach addresses itself to each of the the farmer enterprises, inter relationship among enterprises and between the farm and environment. Thus farming system research has the objective of increasing productivity of various enterprises in the farm while enterprises the crop production. But these approaches are not strictly compartment in the sense that any change in cropping system may bring about an inevitable change in the farming system.

Farming system approach introduces a change in farming technique for high production from a farm as whole with the integration of all the enterprises. The farm produce other than the economic products for which the crop is grown can be better utilized for productive purposes in the farming system approach. A judicious mix of cropping system with associated enterprises like dairy, poultry, piggery, fishery, sericulture etc. suited to the given agro-climatic conditions and socio economic status of farmers would bring prosperity to the farmer.

Ben was a millionaire before the age of 30. He had a good job with a multi-national company as an executive. He met his former wife Nkechi while she was 25 years old. They met one wet Wednesday morning while he was on his way to work and she was on her way to the university of lagos. She had just gained admission into university. As he drove by, he didn’t take notice of the puddle of rain water in front of him and he ran into it. Water splashed unto Nkechi and wet her clothes. She was about raining curses on the driver of the car before Ben stopped and apologised for the harm he had caused her. He offered to get her some new clothes and he took her to the closest boutique on the street which was open by then. He bought several clothes for her, took her to his place so she could get cleaned up and change. He got her a taxi cab to drop her off at school. They exchanged numbers. Thus began a whirlwind relationship that would end in marriage. Ben was like a God sent angel to Nkechi’s family. He met her families needs. He was such a generous in-law.

After his wife graduated from university and did her youth service, Ben set up a logistics business for his wife. With his contacts he helped her in getting clients who did good business with the young company.

Unfortunately, the multi-national company Ben worked with started experiencing financial problems in the international market. They had to retrench some staff. Ben was among those who got retrenched. Ben tried leaning back on the business his wife Nkechi was operating. His wife refused vehemently.

Meanwhile, his wife’s junior sister, Chioma, had been living with them all these years. She was a young naive graduate, who reluctantly ran errands in the house. When Ben and Nkechi were constantly fighting over the business, Chioma sided her brother in law and tried pleading with her elder sister to see reason with her husband. But Nkechi would have none of that and threatened to send Chioma back to their parents house. Ben’s in laws tried to persuade their daughter too, but she would have none of it. Unknowingly, Nkechi was having an affair with her manager. One unfortunate day, she took her belongings and three kids she had with Ben, and walked out of the marriage.

Ben had returned to meet an empty house and his sister in law who tried explaining the unfortunate event to him. It was a  heart breaking experience for Ben. Chioma did all she could to console him but Ben was inconsolable. Days passed into weeks, weeks into months. Chioma tried to leave the house so as not to be a burden to Ben but he insisted that she stayed. Her family encouraged her to stay. That naive and reluctant sister in law took care of Ben and the house. She cooked, cleaned and washed. As God would have it she got a very good job and good payment with it. Even when Ben went bankrupt, she still helped out in taking care of their needs. She even gave him pocket money so that he could take care of his needs.

Ben was lucky to get a new job with better entitlements from his last job. And to show his gratitude, he took Chioma out on an expensive and exclusive date to show his gratitude for all she did for him. One thing led to another and he kissed her. They drove back home late in the night and as Chioma made for her room, he grabbed her arm and looked deeply into her eyes. Her eyes were pleading with Ben not to but he just couldn’t resist her. He took her into his arms and with their bodies clinging into each other, they kissed in a deep wet kiss. He carried her on his arms while her hands and head rested on his chests and neck respectively into his room and he made love to her until the wee hours of the morning.

Ben has proposed to Chioma. His estranged wife Nkechi wants to come back. He didn’t divorce Nkechi. Ben is still hell bent on marrying Chioma who is already pregnant for him. His in laws support him. Nkechi is using Ben’s family to win her husband back but most of them support Ben.

Now the big question, if you were in Ben’s shoes, what would you do? Stay with your sister in law who stood by your side when you had no one or go back to your wife who abandoned you when you needed her the most?

Runaway bride was the title to the 1999 movie starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. In that movie the bride ran away from the grooms because she was scared of the future. Scared of getting pregnant, giving birth, raising the kids, being a mum, economic and financial insecurity and growing old. All she needed was a man who would make her understand that everything was gonna be just fine.

Fast forward to 2016 and you have a new movie being played in real life in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, West Africa. A bride runs away from her wedding with her husband to be, hot on her heels. She decided to run away from the wedding because she didn’t see guests from Chevron were her husband to be claims he works with. This is funny. Both couples are insincere to themselves.

Why would the groom lie about his background to a woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with? If he eventually marries her, he will keep in lying to her.

Then the bride. Why is she only interested in marrying a man who is financially loaded to secure her future? Does it mean she doesn’t want to suffer in her matrimonial home? How can she be so blind as not to discover that he was lying to her. How can he also not know she only loved him for what he could offer her at the moment.

This is what we suffer in the world today. Relationships have become materialistic and selfish. Ladies are more interested in marrying fully loaded guys while men are only interested in being in a relationship were the lady can meet their sexual needs. Girls want to marry a man who has a car, lives in a three bedroom flat and who haves dstv cable so that they can be watching Africa movie channel with their friends and show them how they have upgraded.

My advice to wanna be couples, if you can’t be of any importance to your partners life, get the hell out of the relationship and remain where you are. For the groom, after spending so much please get your pound of flesh or make her family pay for the expenses. Imagine running away!

Is your business hit by the recession? Even though your sales growth may be slow for a while and the trends may vary from one industry to another and from one location to another, you do not need to despair. Your business will turn around soon. You need to make sure that your business survives the recession. In this hard times, you need to run a smart business and not just a business. Here are five important lessons you can learn to survive the recession.

1. Market positioning.

In good times, small business owners become complacent. We forget those things that helped us in making profits and forget the needs of our customers. New players enter the market place on a daily basis and steal our customers from us. Consumer behaviour and tastes change. Things never stay the same.

Recessions offer a rude but beneficial awakening. When profits go down on a spiral level, we will look back at our mode of operation. We will realize our mistakes, get close to the customer again and understand why they really buy our products and services.

2. Finding strategic opportunities.

In bad times, most businesses downsize to weather the storm. Sometimes, this works but more often it is a dangerous strategy. Rather than lay off your staff it is better to create new and viable business opportunities and abandon the old ones.

If the old business opportunities you have are not giving you results, seek new needs or problems and provide solutions to them. Other businesses that lay off their staff create a vital pool of experienced talent to help you go after them.

3. Creating strategic selling systems.

Gone are the days people buy products and services just because they need them. Your customers have become smarter and more sophisticated. And so has their needs. With the internet, smart phones and social media platforms, people tend to get information about anything and everything in seconds at the tip of their fingers. The way you sell to your customers needs to change.

You need to embrace content and social media marketing. “Tell” and do not “sell”! Let them see you as the “go to” guy for all their problems and the market leader in your industry.

4. Cost management.

Strategic selling can help a company weather an economic downturn, but it can’t save the business unless it is coupled with tight financial controls. You need strong financial control and management to manage the flow of money in your business.

This is not a time to spend money recklessly. You need to spend money on the things your business needs only. Always remember to pay yourself so as not to be tempted in using your company’s funds.

5. Measuring personnel contribution.

If cash is king in any business, the staff is queen……particularly in troubled times. Your staff are a key asset, yet small business owners view them as an expense instead.

For your business to grow during a recess, you need to tie jobs to productivity. Rather than slash their salaries or downsize your staff, you need to rigorously analyse their individual potential to help the company reach its strategic goal.

Nigeria is in a difficult economical and political situation right now. The activities of Niger Delta militants on Nigeria’s oil and gas installations has depleted the country’s revenue generation. According to sources we could make $2 billion USD in a month but because of the activities of these militants, we now make less than $1 billion a month. Also the CBN floated the Naira and it now sells for #375 at the parallel market and #295 at the official rate to the dollar. This has increased the inflation rate to 16%. The price of commodities has gone to the rooftops. Fuel now sells at #145 per liter.

This spells doom for Nigerians. We are in a recession and some of us claim that we are in a depression.

But I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I clearly support the diversification and privatization of the Nigerian economy. The continuous hold of the Nigerian economy by the federal government is not good for us. Government can declare an initial public offering on its main monopolies and generate hard earned foreign reserves that we badly need. They can privatize some major sectors like education, tourism, sports, transportation, mining and agriculture outright. Most importantly, the need to go back to the revenue sharing formula before 1967-1970. I support resource control by the states and not by regional governments.

Under listed are the international prices of commodities;

  • gasoline USD/gal 136.15
  • heating oil USD/gal 136
  • gold USD/t.oz 1,323
  • copper USD/lb 224
  • corn USD/bu  342
  • wheat USD/bu  425
  • cocoa USD/mt  2,886
  • cotton USD/lb 73
  • live cattle USD/lb 108
  • crude palm oil USD/mt 683
  • tomato paste USD/mt 350
  • cassava starch USD/mt 78.

If the Buhari administration is serious about diversification, they need to do it now. But first they most have a unity government with the opposition. Fight corruption by allowing EFCC to go after corrupt officials no matter the tribe, religion, position or party affiliation. Appoint equal number of people from other ethnic groups and not just from the north and renegotiate terms with the militants and other agitators. We need to secure this country by all means necessary.

With the above listed prices on commodities, Nigeria needs to diversify immediately. I rest my case!

agricultural diversification.

agricultural diversification.

The Nigerian government is interested in diversifying the Nigerian economy from a mono-economy to a multi-economy. This will enable the country to stop being dependent on revenue gotten from the oil and gas industry. Unfortunately, before oil was discovered in the Niger Delta in 1958, Nigeria was an agricultural super power. We exported the largest amounts of cocoa in the south western part of the country, palm oil in the south eastern parts and groundnuts and cotton in the northern parts of Nigeria. We were the largest exporters of these listed commodities before the civil war, in Africa, but soon after the civil war ended, misguided leadership from successive military regimes and democratically elected administrations, have led us astray and depended on oil. These misguided leadership, have even assisted corrupt politicians, businessmen, civilians and the military, to steal everything we have and now they desire that we venture into other industries, especially agriculture they left to die.

These people do not know what industrial diversification means. Industrial diversification is a strategy that involves choosing to structure an industry in a manner that promotes involvement in a wide range of revenue producing activities. The goal of any type of industrial diversification is increase the chances of returns by diversifying or spreading assets over a wider range of activities, while also helping to minimize the potential for failure or loss.

As it relates to production operations, industrial diversification has to do with providing goods and services that appeal to multiple markets rather than focusing on a product line that appeals to mainly one market. For example, a company may operate plant facilities that produce clothing items at one location, while also manufacturing bedding and other types of household textiles at another. At times, the diversification may involve completely unrelated products, such as a company that produces a line of office supplies but also has a division focused on the production of televisions and other electrical entertainment devices. The degree of industrial diversification will often be influenced by what owners believe will provide the best possible protection from declines in one market by enjoying corresponding increases in demand in another market.

What this means is that in agriculture, we can diversify the industry, which would increase the returns after we must have spread assets over a wider range of activities. Take for example, palm oil is a major agricultural commodity in the south eastern part of Nigeria, cassava is also a major crop grown in this region. With diversification, agricultural practitioners can introduce new crops like tomatoes, potatoes, groundnuts, beans and the rest of them to the south east and which would improve the economic returns from different value-added crops and marketing opportunities. With the threat of marauding Fulani-herdsmen from the north, who are trying to seize lands down south for cattle grazing, if we truly support agricultural diversification, we can then introduce dairy cattle and other livestock farming in the southern parts of Nigeria. The economic benefits to these idea is huge, but I do not think we have the political will to make this happen. Look at the grazing bill tearing the nation apart, were government want to take lands from all states of the federation and hand it over to Hausa-Fulani herdsmen, the same people who have been killing innocent Nigerians. The same people who have been labeled the fourth most violent terrorist group in the world by Amnesty International.

Industrial diversification can also occur in other industries like, power, transportation, tourism, health, sports, communication, information technology etc. We need our economists, especially the CBN to look more into this.

Agricultural diversification is a success in India. I rest my case.

Buhari has failed a lot of Nigerians. APC supporters and northern Nigerians, especially the Hausa-Fulani’s, will blindly follow President Buhari. Now he has gone to the U.K to treat and ear infection and news coming in, says that he might extend the 10 days health vacation.

disrespectful wife

Gone are the days women and girls had respect for the men in their lives. These days, a girl can so downgrade a boy if he dares as much approach her. If they eventually have a relationship, the odds are ten to one for that lady involved to respect her man. Unfortunately, Nigerian women are more interested in men who can meet their daily needs. They are more interested in having a man who owns the latest tv set, with sound system and a dstv decoder so they can sit and watch Africa Magic all day. He must also have a car and a big flat so that they can invite their girlfriends and they will sit and chat all day about how good the guy is to their friends and tell her how lucky she is and all that, while the dude is working his arse off to impress the girl. When he closes for work, he will buy her sharwama on his way back. Young ladies now at days want more favors from their man and when they don’t get it, they become more disrespectful towards the man.

Recently, Tiwa Savage had a misunderstanding with her husband Tee Bliz, who wanted to commit suicide. The husband rashly accused his wife of committing adultery on instagram, while Tiwa foolishly replied back on a video interview. A couple should know that you do not wash your dirty linen outside, unless you want people to criticize how clean or dirty your linen are? They won’t take sides but they sure will tear you apart! Also, wife battering incidents has increased. A former banker wife was found dead in her home with her husband no were to be seen. He just recently walked into the offices of the police in Alausa, Ikeja and he claims that his wife had been cheating on him. She is dead now and she can’t defend herself. I do not support wife battering of any sort. If my wife cheats on me, I will cheat on her or I just walk out of the relationship. Some spouses drive their mates insane. Men who cheat on their wives, wives who cheat on their husbands, it’s just a vicious circle!

Respect is reciprocal. If a lady needs favors from her man, she should respect him. If a man needs favors from his woman, he too should care for her needs. They should respect each other. Ladies, you need to hold your tongues. Just because you are proud, that don’t mean you should keep your tongue in check!

The paper money we use today originated during the middle ages. In those days, goldsmiths and merchants trading with gold and silver items, kept the values related to these items. The goldsmith, as a guaranty, delivered a receipt to the merchant. With time, these receipts were used to make payments, circulating from hand to hand.

paper money: dollar bill

paper money: dollar bill

The first bank notes were issued by Banco do Brasil in Brazil in 1810. They had its value written by hand, as we today do with our checks. With time, in the same form it happened with coins, the government came to conduct the issue of notes, controlling counterfeits and securing the power to pay. Currently, all countries have their central bank in charge of issuing coins and notes.

Nigerian Naira: 100 Naira note/bill

Nigerian Naira: 100 Naira note/bill

Paper money experienced an evolution regarding the technique used in their printing. Today, the printing of notes uses a specially prepared paper and several printing processes, which are complementary to each other, assuring to the final product a great margin of security and durability conditions.

The set of coins and bank notes used by a country form its monetary system. The system is regulated by appropriate legislation and organized from a monetary unit, its base value. The countries, through their central banks, control and guarantee the issue of money. The set of notes and coins in circulation, the so called monetary mass, is constantly renewed through the process of sanitation, substitution of worn out and torn notes

As coins and notes ceased to be convertible into precious metal, money became more dematerialized and assumed abstract forms. One of these forms is the check that, for simplicity of use and security offered, is being adopted by an increasing number of people in their day-by-day activities. This document, by which one orders payment of a certain amount to its bearer or to a person mentioned in it, aims mainly at transactions with bank deposits. The important role played today in the economy by this form of payment is due to the innumerable advantages offered by it, speeding transactions with large sums, avoiding hoarding and diminishing the need of change by being a document completed by hand in the necessary amount.

The need now came for people to

Money now has an electronic form

Money now has an electronic form

Electronic money, or e-money, is the money balance recorded electronically on a stored-value card. These cards have microprocessors embedded which can be loaded with a monetary value. Another form of electronic money is network money, software that allows the transfer of value on computer networks, particularly the internet. Electronic money is a floating claim on a private bank or other financial institution that is not linked to any particular account. Examples of electronic money are bank deposits, electronic funds transfer, direct deposit, payment processors, and digital currencies.

Electronic money can either be centralized, where there is a central point of control over the money supply, or decentralized, where the control over the money supply can come from various sources. Electronic money that is decentralized is also known as digital currencies. The major difference between E-money and digital currencies is that E-money doesn’t change the value of the fiat currency (USD, EUR) it represents, but digital currency isn’t equivalent to any fiat currency. In other words, all digital currency is Electronic money, but Electronic money isn’t necessarily digital currency. Many mobile sub-systems have been introduced in the past few years including Google Wallet and Apple Pay.

Money, whatever the form it has, is not valuable for itself, but for the goods and services it may purchase. It is a sort of security giving its bearer the faculty of being creditor of society and take advantage, through his or her purchasing power, of all conquests of modern man. Money was not, hence, invented by a stroke of genius, but stemmed from a need, and its evolution reflects, at each time, the willingness of man to harmonize its monetary instrument to the reality of its economy.

to tithe or not to tithe!

to tithe or not to tithe!

What I think about tithes is that since Jesus Christ died on the cross, there is no need for us to be paying tithes. But today’s Christians insist on it being paid. Now I am all about confused about tithing. If I tell one of this self-proclaimed born again christian’s that I don’t tithe, they will look at me with pity and say, that I am cheating God and go on and on about how God isn’t blessing me. But funny enough, I don’t see how God blesses them. So many people can cover up their problems you know.

While going through Facebook yesterday, I encountered a website that says that we shouldn’t pay our tithes with money. The website’s url name is In the olden days, money never existed. Infact, during the time of King David, I think the money used then was the shekel. This is a weight or scale, that measures the weight of commodities being exchanged. Yet this argument about not paying tithes with money still got me confused. Now at days, people work and get paid with money or hard earned currencies. Doesn’t that replace the labor of man in ancient times when your either a fisherman, farmer or cattle rarer. I am still confused.

What is the tithe? It is the “gateway for the believer into the covenant of blessings.” In the Hebrew “maaser” or “maasrah,” is translated tenth, or tenth part, and in Greek “apodekatoo” and in both, it means a payment or giving or receiving of the tenth.

The tithe is that tenth of our income that we give to God, which enables Him to move on our behalf in the area of blessings. The Bible records numerous accounts of man tithing to God. God is the creator of everything that exists. He owns everything and we are simply stewards of what we have been entrusted with. The tithe principle is this; “He gives unto us, we give back to Him one-tenth of all that He has blessed us with.”

I am not here to preach to you about tithing. But Tithes were meant to provide for the priest’s who served God, the orphans, widows and the poor. We do give tithes, but we do not care who uses it and how it is used. As Jesus warned the Pharisees, who gave their tithes but neglected the most important aspects of the law of God, which were, jut ice, mercy and faithfulness. It is important for Christians to know what the tithes they offer to their various churches, is being used for. The excuses that God will judge and you don’t care what they do with it is wrong. Jesus cared and he rebuked the pharisees and if you claim to be a follower of Christ, you should do same.

But first, when exactly should we give our tithes.

Leviticus 27:30–32 (NIV)

A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. Whoever would redeem any of their tithe must add a fifth of the value to it. Every tithe of the herd and flock—every tenth animal’.

Deuteronomy 26:12–15 (NIV)
When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.

Who can make me understand this scriptures please?

President Buhari

President Buhari

President Buhari is fighting a one sided fight against corruption. We all knew that. At least those who do not belong to any of the political parties in Nigeria. None of the president’s party members have been scrutinized by the EFCC, ICPC, DSS or the Nigerian Police except for the senate president who is fighting for his political life with the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) and we all know why. Because he forced himself on the party.

But I am angry with Nigerians. Must we be so blind and partisan? Must we allow these politicians to deceive us using our ethnic differences? I do not belong to any political party. I supported Buhari before the 2011 elections but voted for GEJ later. Why? Because Buhari has nothing to offer Nigerians. He didn’t in 1983-1985, so tell me why would he do so now. Buhari has made a lot of mistakes from May 29, 2015 till now.

Alleged persecution of Buhari’s opponents: Presidency lambasts UK Telegraph

It’s been a week now since The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ( leaked over 15 million financial documents to the press, of rich and powerful individuals, politicians, celebrities and world leaders stashing huge sums of money in Panama’s tax free zone (tax heaven). I don’t have anything against stashing your money in countries you don’t pay tax, as long as you worked for it. But politicians who moved funds belonging to their states or countries, are criminals. I still don’t know why people should pay tax especially in countries like Nigeria were the government doesn’t provide any basic amenities for her people, even when the people pay for everything and still pay VAT on all items.

But I find it funny though. I think it is another plan by the western powers to ridicule their non western powers like China and Russia. Since Edward Snowden leaked secret NSA papers and then he ran off to Russia and Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, who is still holed up the Ecuadorian embassy in London, the United States and Britain have done everything to rubbish Putin, the Russian president. Sure when the news broke on BBC, the first powerful leader to be mentioned was Putin as usual.

The #panamagate or #panamapapers has claimed it’s first victim when the Prime Minister of Iceland resigned from office. It has quietened down a bit now since it has claimed it’s first victim.

Iceland Prime Minister bends his head in shame after he announced his retirement from office last week.

Iceland Prime Minister bends his head in shame after he announced his retirement from office last week.

Nigeria has it’s own leaders mentioned in the scandal, from current senate president, Bukola Saraki to the former senate president, David Mark, former minister of defense Theophillus Danjuma and now a christian pastor T.B Joshua. Nothing will come out of all these. Only countires with tructures will deal with their defaulters, others like Nigeria won’t but I hope President Buhari would do something about it.

Initially, during the course of civilization, money didn’t exist. People who lived during the early ages, had to make exchange for items or goods they did not have. They engaged in trade by barter, which is the exchange of an item for another item and these items weren’t of the same value. So if a fisher man caught more fish that he could use, he exchanged them with a livestock farmer or farmer who had grains, like wheat. This form of trade still exists today in some parts of the world. This exchange, however, is not free from difficulties, since there isn’t a common measure of value among the items bartered or exchanged.

Some items became more valuable than others and more sought after. These items assumed the role of currency or money. These items were referred to as commodity money. Items like cattle, spices, milk, cowry shells, were used as commodity money, due to the fact that these items were scarce. Later, these commodities became inconvenient for commercial trades, due to changes in their values, the fact of being indivisible and easily perishable, therefore checking the accumulation of wealth.

As soon as metal was discovered, it was used to make utensils and weapons which were previously made of stone. For its advantages, like being durable and divisible, metal became the main standard of value. It was initially used in its natural state, then in the forms of ingots and objects like rings to bracelets. The metal traded with were weighed and assessed of its purity at each transaction. Later, metal money gained definite form and weight, receiving a mark indicating its value and the person who issued it. They came to be valued commodities. The increased value of these objects led to its use as money and the circulation as money of small scale replicas of metal objects.

gold and silver were the most preffered objects used as money

gold and silver were the most preferred objects used as money

Coins were first minted in Lydia during the 7th century B.C, which is present day Turkey. The first metals used in coinage were gold and silver. Minting of gold and silver coins was common for many centuries and pieces were guaranteed by their intrinsic value or importance. Then a coin made with twenty grams of gold was exchanged for goods of even value. Gold were used for higher valued coins, while silver and copper coins were used for lesser value. Later cupronickel and other metallic alloys were used as coins and these coins came to circulate for their extrinsic or face value and not their metallic content. With the appearance of paper money, minting of metal coins was restricted to lower values, necessary as change. In this new role, durability became the most requested quality for coins.

In the next write up we will conclude our story on the evolution of money.

Lagos by night from the air

Lagos by night from the air

Oh yes, I just had my first flight experience and there ain’t nothing to be ashamed of. It was quite unique and I overcame my phobia for flying or travelling by air. Now I’m more interested in travelling and seeing what it’s like in other cities and countries.

I travelled on an official duty with my superior to Bayelsa and our flight was for 3pm from Lagos to Port Harcourt. Our flight was delayed till 7pm. Our flight was by Arik Airlines. We boarded a bombardier jet and after all the security details mentioned to us, we took off for Port Harcourt. It was a smooth take off. Lagos was a beautiful sight from the air. I think Governor Ambode has done well by lighting up Lagos roads. And believe you me, Lagos is a large city.

The flight went well. We only experienced turbulence once. We had a smooth landing in Port Harcourt. But the arrival lounge was embarrassing. Wet and made of white tents. The arrival lounge building is still under construction. We then went into Port Harcourt and booked rooms in a hotel in the government reserved area of the city. The foreign expatriates have left the city in droves and that has depleted the income in the state. The night life in Port Harcourt still exists though.

Arik Air

Arik Air

We than went to Yenegoa, Bayelsa state via the famous east-west road which I learnt was still under construction. The journey was smooth. After our meeting at the NCDMB office in yenegoa, we went straight back to the Port Harcourt airport and we arrived 30 minutes before our flight scheduled time which was meant for 5pm. This time again, our flight was delayed from 5 to 8.45 pm. The departure lounge was manageable but it had no air conditioners. The security checks was strict. You had to take off your shoes and belts and any metallic objects in your possession and pass to the electronic barrier. You would go through this procedure again even if you had to use the gents.

We had to wait till 8.45 pm to board our plane, an aerp 360 jet. I sat at the back of the plane and my airs nearly got burst due to the noise from the engines. Again Lagos was a beautiful sight at night. Well lit. The view when landing was fantastic. We had a save landing and I was lucky to get a quick cab home late that night and I thank God for a smooth journey. But next time, I hope to take a vacation to a place more exotic and affordable. I think the government should introduce a travel or vacation allowance, to allow Nigerians to travel more. What do you think?

President Buhari might be a likable man but he has flows. He is handling a situation that has become more sophisticated than he is. In simple language, he is “old school”. The current situation clearly defines what I am talking about.

When Buhari was sworn in as president on May 29th, 2015, his body language made Nigerians to be in line, but when his government showed a little lapse in being unserious in having a cabinet, corruption became bold enough to stand up to him. He has lost the momentum.

President Buhari believes in big government. He thinks that government can do everything. That’s definitely old school, ain’t it?! That is why there is fuel scarcity and fuel is being rationed nationwide. Yet fuel is being sold above the set price in major filling stations in oil producing states and the government is ensuring that fuel is being sold at the national price of #87 in non oil producing states like Lagos. You can’t make the NNPC the sole importers of petroleum products into the country in this day and age. It doesn’t work like that.

I don’t know what this craze is about having a big government. We need to trim down the size of government because the cost of managing governments has gone overboard. Government has no business being in business. The solution to our economic problems lies in privatisation and diversification of the Nigerian economy. Government needs to regulate the economy so that the major players in each industry do not take advantage of Nigerians.

And if Buhari really wants to fight corruption, he needs to use modern means to fight it. Modern technology will make the difference. I am sorry, Buhari will not succeed as a democratically elected president. This is no military regime and if the military dares to interfere in our democratic process because Buhari wants it, there will be dare consequences. There are no “Idiagbon’s” to help him now. Nigeria needs intelligent and creative leaders with vision to make a real “Change” in our country.

PSquare: when they group were still together.

The twin act known as P-Square have finally separated. Peter is now known by the name of Mr. P and Paul is now also known as Rude Boy. Most of their fans are sad, but everything, including life must come to an end. Nobody knew that Michael Jackson could have a different career from the Jackson 5 which was made up of Michael himself and 4 of his older brothers. Michael Jackson turned out to be the worlds greatest pop music artist. Bobby Brown left the group New Edition to pursue his career and so did other members of his group. The group Destiny’s Child broke up and its members are stars today.

Paul Okoye

Paul “Rude Boy” Okoye

I don’t see anything wrong with the break up of the group. They have their own families now and so that will definitely affect their relationship as twin brothers and business partners. I think its time they pursued different careers to see how far they would come as individuals. Even brothers and sisters have different ambitions and they have the right to pursue them.

Nigerians should give them a break and let things be. Success on your different careers PSquare. You gave us a treat when you guys were a team. Let’s see if you guys can give us more now that you guys ain’t longer a team. While the former governor of Anambra State tries to “reconcile”  the group, it’s best to leave them alone as separate artists or entertainers.

The manner a lady talks to her man, will determine how he respects you. If you talk in a manner that insults him, he won’t respect you. In fact, he will treat you like trash. Your man will think that you are an angry, crazy woman and that your family is too. But if you let him know what you think in a nice and humble way, he will know you are one of those girls, sweet, responsible and family oriented. If he is a man who shares your belief in the importance of family, he is going to keep talking to you and listen for more of your standards.

Here are a few examples on how you can let your man know your requirements and standards in a humble manner.

  • If your man shows up late for an appointment or date with you, don’t tell him you can’t stand a man who doesn’t keep up with time, rather let him know how you go out of your busy schedule to keep up to time and how you would make a phone call to let that person know why you can’t keep up to time. Your man will how not to keep you waiting on him.
  • Don’t pick up a fight with your man if he is cheats on you or sleeps with other women. I know this can be hard but try and let him know how honest you would be with him, in letting him know that you feel like seeing other people besides him, so that he can decide if he wants to continue the relationship as it is or date him alone. it helps you to make intelligent, rational decisions about how to deal with the situation if he is interested in seeing other women and how important it is for both of you to discuss your relationship whenever you have a problem.
  • If your man is that type of person who refuses to go to church on Sundays or who is not religious as you are, you don’t need to take it out on him. All you need to do is to let him know how Sundays are the best days of the week for you and that you are a God – fearing, church going woman and how you take your faith seriously. You need to learn how he feels about religion and spirituality.

black couples 2

Got the picture? Now you have given us what we think is valuable information about the woman we are interested in, but more importantly, you have told us what your standards are in a humble way.

You need to let your man show you what he is made of, to prove that he is worthy of your time. You do not need to tell him what you expect from your man all at once and not giving him the chance to show you what he is willing to do for you. If you tell your man what you expect from him all at once, be sure not to expect more from him except the things you have just told him. Then you will start complaining about your man to your girlfriends about how he has stopped loving you. Instead of telling him what you like, tell him what you do not like and then see how he responds. Let him research and dig and figure out how to get to your sweet spot.

black couples 3

To let your man know about your requirements for a man and the importance of following those requirements, you must figure out what, exactly your requirements are. These questions can help you determine what your requirements for your dream man are:

  1. What type of man are you looking for? (e.g funny, hardworking, generous, kind).
  2. How do you expect to be pursued? (e.g regular phone calls, text messages, chats, dating).
  3. What level of commitment do you expect? (e.g open relationship, dating exclusively).
  4. What kind of financial security do you expect him to have? (e.g wealthy, earning more than you, you don’t care).
  5. Do you want a man who wants kids and is family oriented?
  6. Does he have to be religious/spiritual?
  7. Do you mind if he is a divorcee or has kids?
  8. Can you help a man build his dream? Can you adapt to his plan?
  9. What do you expect of his family? Can you get along with his mum? Does he care if you get along with his mum?
  10. What should he be willing to do to woo you? (e.g pursue you, buy you expensive gifts).

a man who truly respects and adores his lady.

a man who truly respects and adores his lady.

There has been a lot of stories making the rounds of men physically molesting their wives and some killing them. A man has also been murdered by his wife too. Ladies also complain about the negative ways men treat them or cheat them. Men and women need to set standards or boundaries for themselves so that the person they are dating respects them and not take them for granted.

Ladies, you need to have requirements and standards for your dream man in order to make the relationship work for you. We all need a monogamous relationship (some men can afford to have a polygamous relationship). We need a partnership with the opposite sex who want to be a dedicated husband and father or wife and mother. Most women desire their men to be be faithful, God fearing and willing to do what it takes to keep their family together. Women also need men who can treat them like a lady, every time. They want men who can open doors for them, pull out their seats when they are ready to sit at the table, remembering all anniversaries and birthdays and keeping the foul talk to a minimum. These requirements are important to ladies because they determine how they would be treated by their men and they are also important to men because it shows men what they need to do to make sure the women in their lives gets want they need and want.

Men can not accomplish this mission for you without your help. Men can not imagine what it is a woman needs and want because a woman’s needs and wants are different from woman to woman like the winds of change. Men are very simple, logical people. If a man is interested in having a serious relationship with you, they will go out of their way yo live up to your expectations. When you set requirements and standards for your man, you give him a road map on how he needs to conduct himself around you, especially if he is truly interested in having a relationship with you.

But the manner in which you let your man know about your requirements and standards is important because you might say it in a rude manner and he gets upset with you. There are nice ways to let your man know this and I will let you know how in my next write up. Have a lovely weekend people.

President Buhari

President Buhari

A lot has been said about the recent fall of the Naira against the Dollar in the parallel market and the state of the Nigerian economy. People are worried and scared but I don’t think there is any reason to be scared. In fact, I now support President Buhari on his refusal to devalue the Naira. Those who are insisting that he does so, are among the individuals who have been looting our national treasury. The people who have been glamouring for the devaluation of the Naira are people who have been benefiting from the continuous devaluation of the Naira. The President must stand his ground.

The Central Bank of Nigeria banned some items imported into the country on a daily basis. Most of these items can be produced in the country but the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, told Nigerians that the CBN had actually banned the importation of over 700 items. They insisted that most of their members are closing shop because of their inability to import these items. One of these items can be gotten from palm oil. Palm oil was a major exporting product in the former Eastern Nigerian region before the civil war. Nigeria was the largest exporter of the commodity before Oil and Gas stole the show. Indonesia and Malaysia came to our country and took palm kernel seedlings and planted them in their countries. Today, both countries are the largest exporters of the product in the world. What an irony! See where our tribal selfishness has led us to! Now that the federal government have refused to devalue the Naira, thereby making it difficult for importers to import products into Nigeria, will they support the South eastern states to revive the mass production and processing of palm oil? Will Buhari now want Northerners to be the main producers of the product? This was how Obasanjo made it difficult for exporters and importers to do their business by placing high tariffs on other ports and airports so that the lagos ports and lagos and abuja airports were the only places we go export and import items in and out of the country. I wonder.

Going back to the argument at hand, the more we import goods into the country, the more we will deplete our national reserves, thereby killing the Naira, of which our politicians have depleted to the barest minimum, by diverting funds that belong to the nation, for their personal use. This cuts across parties. Also the CBN needs to stop lending money to big corporations like Dangote Group and Co. If you must ensure that the Naira does not die, you need to stop supporting large corporations. If MAN and NACCIMA members can not find forex funds to import items that they would use for their business, why would you make it easily available for Dangote to build his industries?

Nigeria has the largest consumer market in Africa and that is why we are the beautiful bride. Why would we be the largest market in Africa and major corporations would have their African head quarters or major factories built in other African countries, whose populations do not even make up to one-third of our population? Even if they built their factories in Nigeria, will the ethnic quagmire allow them to do so? Look how long it has taken the Ajaokuta Steel mill to be set up.

Although the official rate of the dollar is #198 and over #400 in the parallel (black) market, we can still buy products from foreign countries at the official rate. Even foreign organizations recognize that rate. When you go to the black market you buy at their prize. So if you want to buy a product for $200, you will need to pay #40,000. But if you go to the black market you must have double that amount to do so at #80,000 or more. With the way the world has changed with the internet, you can pay for any item online or with your atm card and spend less money.

The only time we would experience economic difficulties is when the supply for the banned products gets depleted, things will get costly. But if the government and the CBN can encourage local entrepreneurs and farmers to meet the markets needs, there will be no cause for alarm. Buy Nigerian goods to grow the Naira. .

Yesterday we talked about how to sell a product by showing enthusiasm or love for the product or services you are selling. Today, we continue the second part of how to sell a product, by connecting with your buyer. If you do not establish a relationship with your buyer or customer, you might not be able to sell your products/services or even close a deal. Continue reading.

buyers and sellers

  1. Anticipate your customers’ motivations.

You want to be able to answer any questions that customers may have about a product, but even more importantly, you want to anticipate those questions. This shows that you understand customer needs. Make sure that you are able to connect emotionally with customers by addressing those needs.

  • Think about your typical customers. What motivates them? What needs do they have? Are they young? Single? Wealthy? Do they have families?
  • Once you have an idea of your customers in mind, think about how your product can help them meet their needs or reach their desires.

  1. Practice breaking the ice with customers.

If you are working in direct sales, the way you connect with people is critical. Instead of asking the close-ended question “May I help you?,” ask the more positive, open-ended questions like “Are you looking for something for yourself? Or a gift for someone special?” In addition, be ready to make remarks about your product that will interest customers and start deeper conversations. For instance, if you are in clothing retail, you might say: “You know, ugly Christmas sweater parties are really popular right now. Have you ever been to one?”

  1. Convert the customer’s motivations into the product’s characteristics.

In marketing, this is known as “positioning,” and it consists of equating the product with the customer’s hopes and desires. A number of factors are important when positioning a product:

  • Position the product in the best spectrum of the market possible. Don’t pitch the product too high or too low in terms of affordability and luxury.
  • Position the facts about the product according to the person you’re selling it to. You may have a handful of different facts, but it’s up to your skill to know which of those facts best serve each individual sale.

  • Don’t fudge facts or lie outright. Product positioning is about perception, not deception.

  • Position the facts so that they transcend the product itself. This means that the desirable, positive values associated with the product are what sell it. Companies that excel at this include Coca-Cola, Apple, and many designer goods or labels. Think about how your product will connect with a customer’s lifestyle or values, and not simply serve a function.

  • For instance, if you are trying to sell a relatively high-end minivan to a wealthy older person, you might mention its luxurious features. Do this by saying things like: “Take a look at that wood trim—it’s just beautiful. And those soft leather seats—they’re so comfortable. They’re perfect for taking a nice sunset drive.”

  • If you were trying to sell the same minivan to a family with three children, however, you would emphasize its more utilitarian features. For example, you could say things like: “The third seat adds lots of room for carting friends around. It also folds down when you need room for hauling groceries, sporting gear, and things like that. And did I mention that side air bags and anti-lock brakes come standard?”

  • seller and buyer

    1. Be honest about your product.

Long-term lovers of your product will only come about if you’ve been honest with them. This means being transparent in your delivery of product information and also admitting your own lack of knowledge or mistakes you’ve made. Don’t be afraid of honesty; it builds trust.

    • If you ever are not able to answer customers’ questions or supply them with what they need, offer to follow up with them later, as soon as you are able to.
  • Make sure customers know they can come back to you later if they have questions or concerns.

  • If it ever turns out that a product isn’t right for a customer, be honest about it and help the customer find what he or she really needs. Even if you don’t make the sale today, your honesty and generosity will be remembered, and can translate into future sales.

  • For instance, if you are trying to sell a sports car to customer who eventually tells you that he has five young children who he drives to school everyday, you could say something like: “Well maybe you’d be better off with a good minivan or SUV. But if you’re ever in the market for a second vehicle, come back and talk to me and I’ll help you get a good deal.”

    1. Close the sale.

There are many styles and methods of closing a sale, but one of the most effective has the mnemonic, ABC: “Always Be Closing.” As you confirm your prospective buyer’s interest in the product, put forward trial closes like, “Does this sound like the product you want?” or “So what do you think? Will this meet your needs?”

    1. Give customers time to consider.

Appearing overly pushy is a turn-off for many buyers. They may want to go home and do a quick online search for more information. Let them do so with your enthusiastic and supportive pitch in mind. If you’ve been truthful, helpful, considerate, and enthusiastic, and the information you’ve given them matches with what they read online, they are likely to come back to your product.

    • Sometimes, it pays to let your customers take the lead. Give them time to consider, and keep quiet while they do. Only offer more information when they request it.
  • Don’t let customers get away without knowing how to contact you. If you are working in a store or on site, make sure customers will know how to find you again (especially if you will be moving around). Make sure to tell customers something like “I’ll be right here at the counter if you need me,” or “Just ask any sales associate to page me if you have any questions.”

  • You can also give customers your contact information so they can get in touch with you if they have questions or want more information. Slip the customer your business card or other contact information and say something: “Call me anytime if you have questions, and you can also find me right here in the store on weekdays.”

  • Use your instincts. If you think a customer is close to buying, stay nearby without being intrusive. You’ll want the customer to be able to find you quickly. The last thing you want is for a potential buyer to decide to purchase and then be unable to find you.

a bar tender selling to his customer

a bar tender selling to his customer

This is a first part of a marketing article for marketers and people who hope to sell their products/services to their target customers. Believe me, finding someone to your services or products, is not easy. You might even loose faith in yourself and become scared of selling more of your products and services.

Selling a product doesn’t have to be complicated. At it most basic level, a sales program is defined principally by what you sell, who you sell it to, and how you sell it. Beyond that, sales involves staying focused on the details of your product and customers. As a sales program continues, you will want to keep paying attention to changing trends and the needs or desires of your customers. By observing these changes, you will be able to adjust your program and keep your sales strong.

    1. Share your love of the product.

A good salesperson believes in the product that is being sold, and transfers this enthusiasm to the customer. There are numerous ways to show your love of a product.
Don’t neglect body language and tone. You will convey energy and enthusiasm if you speak clearly about a product, and show expression when discussing it. On the other hand, if you mumble when customers ask questions about a product, or cross your arms over your chest, then it will appear like you are distant and don’t care about the product.

Be prepared to discuss how you use the product, or how other satisfied customers have. Specific stories about the product make it relatable to customers. For instance, if you’re selling a shampoo, you can tell a customer something like: “My hair is usually so frizzy, but ever since I’ve started using this it’s been as smooth and straight as it is right now.”

    1. Study your product.

If you are able to convey knowledge about the product, and to answer questions that customers may have, then they will understand that you really care about the product. If you find the product worthwhile, they are more likely to as well.

It is absolutely vital to know your product inside out. If you do not know something a customer asks of you, try saying something like “I don’t know the exact answer for that, but I’ll be happy to look into it and get back to you right away. What’s the best way to contact you when I find the answer?”

    a satisfied customer

    a satisfied customer

    1. Emphasize the perks of the product to customers.

As well as getting good product information to the right people, it is important to translate the product’s features into benefits. This makes it easier for the customer to see why they should purchase the product.

    Think about things like:

    • Will the product make the customer’s life easier?
    • Will the product create a sense of luxury?
    • Is the product something that can be enjoyed by many people?
    • Is the product something that can be used for a long time?

    4. Ensure that the product has been adequately explained.

If you are not doing direct, person-to-person sales, then you will need to ensure that good product information is supplied via retail packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and any marketing materials. Even if you are selling products directly or making a pitch, having good product information on display will help you convince customers.

    • Make sure that all product information is informative, true, and complete.
    • Make sure that the language on product packaging and marketing materials is clear, direct, and easy to read.
    • Invest the time and money to ensure that your product, packaging, and marketing materials look good—high-quality photos, vivid colors, etc.

trying to keep up with the khardasians

trying to keep up with the khardasians

I have tried putting my head around writing about this deranged family. Yes, this family is deranged. The fami ly came into limelight when their late father, Robert Kardashian (1944-2003) defended O.J Simpson for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman during a lengthy trial, in 1994. Robert Kardashian and Kristen Mary “Kris” Houghton married in 1978, and had four children together, daughters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, and son Rob. The couple divorced in 1991. In 1991, Kris married retired Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner now known as Caitlyn Jenner after undergoing a gender transition in 2015. Caitlyn and Kris had two daughters together, Kendall and Kylie. Robert died in 2003 eight weeks after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. The Kardashian sisters later started appearing in the media spotlight more often; in 2004, Kim became a personal stylist to recording artist Brandy Norwood; she eventually developed into a full-time stylist, and was a personal shopper and stylist to actress Lindsay Lohan. Khloé, Kim and Kourtney further ventured into fashion, opening a high fashion boutique Dash in Calabasas, California. Throughout Kim’s early career, she involved herself in some high-profile relationships including Norwood’s brother, rapper Ray J, and later, singer Nick Lachey. In 2006, Kourtney starred in her first reality television series, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. In February 2007, a home sex video that Kim made with Ray J years earlier was leaked. Vivid Entertainment bought the rights for US$1 million and released the film as Kim Kardashian: Superstar on February 21. Kim sued Vivid for ownership of the tape, but dropped the suit in April 2007 and settled with Vivid Entertainment for US$5 million. It is often assumed that the release of the sex tape played a large part towards the rising fame of Kim Kardashian as well as her family altogether.

Now my take on this family is simple. I love them but some of their actions piss me off a bit. I haven’t watched Keeping Up With The Kardashians for a long time becuase the program makes no sense to me. How can I sit down for hours watching a family live their lives. Does it mean I don’t have a life or my own lifestyle, Pleaseeeeee?! Now I read about them. I hear Khloe Khardashian has her own t.v show ans she’s putting up with her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, whom she revoked their divorce with after he was taken to hospital after collapsing with an overdose of drugs in a brothel. Her new boo, the Houston Rockets, James Harden doesn’t want to put up with that. Kourtney has broken up with her alcohol addicted boy friend and father of her kids, Scott Dissick. Rob was said to be diabetic and is now hitting the gym to get back in shape. He is now dating Blac Chyna, the baby mama to hip hop artiste, Tyga who has an on and off relationship with Kylie Jenner. Kim Khardashian, whose sex tape brought the family to fame, is married to Kanye West and has two kids for him. Kris Jenner, there mother, is dating a black man far younger than her, while Bruce Jenner decided to be a transsexual and now goes by the name Caitlyn Jenner. We don’t know much about Kendall Jenner because she maybe have refused to showcase her lifestyle to people to see but she is a model.

Na wah o! This family sef! Una own don too much! Other families dey exist! No be only una!

daughter and mother in laws vying to get the attention of the man in their lives.

daughter and mother in laws vying to get the attention of the man in their lives.

While going home from work some days ago, I overheard one lady talking to her friend in a cab about her worrisome mother-in-law. Although she claimed that her relationship with her husband was great, she was not happy with her husband’s “controlling” mother. She stated that her mother-in-law controls her husband like a little child. She calls on him to do everything. She even lives with us right now. He doesn’t spend time with me or the kids. His mother doesn’t allow him to. I am tired of all this. She even gets involved in the decision making in the house. I am just tired. Why can’t she go back to her house and spend time with her husband? I just wonder if I married a man or a boy? He needs to stand up to his mother!

Sincerely speaking, it is the woman’s fault and not her husband. Yeah! The reason why your husband pays so much attention to his mother than you, his lawfully wedded wife, is that she has set requirements and standards he dare not break and you have not. A real man is happy and eager to live by your rules, as long as he knows what the rules are and he is sure that abiding by those rules will keep the woman he loves happy. If you don’t set these rules, he will follow his mothers rules. She was the first woman to tell him what she would and would not accept. He followed her rules because he loves his mother and still does. These rules include respecting her, loving her unconditionally, protecting and providing for the woman who gave him life. He will relinquish these rules when he meets the woman he will have to spend the rest of his life with. And when you set the rules you must insist that he respects you (if you respect him firstly and equally!), that he puts you and your kids above everybody else after God and that he has to be clear to everyone involved in your lives that they respect your relationship and you.

You must accept that you can not compete with his mother. If he loves his mother and they have a good relationship, you are not going to come into the middle of that. But you can insist that your man act as a man when it comes to you and his mother. Let him know that you can not play second fiddle to his mother. That he must meet to the needs of his wife and kids before he meets to the needs of his mother. His mother may not like it but she will get over it when she realizes that her son is no longer a boy but a man and that he needs to be a provider and protector to his new family. His mother will come around and will also respect you as her son’s wife.

Stay blessed and have a happy married life.

A 34-year-old ski worker has appeared at court this morning charged with the murder of businesswoman Sadie Hartley. Sarah Williams was remanded in custody following a brief hearing before magistrates in Blackburn this morning. She is accused of killing the mother-of-two in a knife attack at her £450,000 home on Thursday. Ms Williams spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.

She will appear again at Preston Crown Court on Friday. Detectives raided her buy-to-let property in Leasowe, Wirral, on Sunday, ripping up floorboards, searching garden bins and removing computers and phones.

Ms Williams was arrested on Saturday. A second woman, aged 55, was taken in for question by police on Monday. She was arrested and remains in custody.

    bad boss

Having a tough time with your boss already this new year? One of the main reasons that workers become unhappy at work is bad management. A tough boss can turn even a good working environment into an uncomfortable and unhappy workplace. They have the ability to assign good or bad tasks, and ultimately to fire us. This power imbalance is why a good relationship with your manager is so important. If you want to know how to deal with a bad boss and to improve your work environment, continue reading.

    • Speak up: If you are struggling to have a good relationship with your boss, then you shouldn’t stay in silence. Talking to your boss about the problems you’re having in a calm, polite, and professional manner can help you work together to resolve them. Of course, the type of relationship you have and the type of person your boss is can affect how you approach your conversation, but in general, saying something and trying to improve the relationship is superior to getting angry and frustrated and not being able to get your work done.  You’d be surprised by how many bosses have no idea that the people they are managing are feeling overlooked, angry, frustrated, or like they’re getting mixed signals. When you voice your concerns with your boss, then he or she will be grateful that you said something. If you never say anything to your boss about it, then there are almost no chances that your work relationship or your work environment will improve. Saying something is unpleasant, but it’ll be worth it in the long run. You should carefully plan what you’ll say, ask your boss to set a time to talk, and come prepared with evidence and examples of times when you were frustrated with your situation.
    • Work with your boss, not against him or her: Though it may feel good to undermine your boss or to make him or her look foolish or incompetent, in the long run, it’s far better to help your boss look better and to achieve goals that are good for you and the company. If you spend your time making your boss look incompetent at meetings or sabotaging your boss’s efforts to get work done, then you’ll only be poisoning your relationship and your work environment. Instead of making things work for yourself, try to help your boss achieve goals and everything will run more smoothly. Sure, the last thing you may want to do is to work with someone you don’t really respect all that much. But this is far better than constantly being at odds with someone you work with.
    • Keep track of all of your interactions: Though documenting all of the annoying or horrible things your boss has done to you may not sound like the greatest way to spend your time, you should start doing this once you feel like the situation has gotten out of hand. Keep all of your negative email correspondences, save memos that show that your boss is giving mixed messages, and just do whatever you can to document all of the problems you have had in your professional relationship. If you and your boss discuss your problematic relationship and your boss acts like he or she doesn’t know what you’re talking about, then you have something to point to as proof. If your boss just hears that you’re getting mixed messages, it’s less effective than showing him or her two emails with completely different messages.Secondly, If your boss is the type to bring false charges against you, then documenting all of your interactions, or even having your communication in front of others, can help you set the record straight.
    • Don’t bad mouth your boss to your coworkers: Saying negative things about your boss to your coworkers will only fuel the fire at best or get you in trouble at worst. Though you may feel tempted to vent about your boss’s managerial style, you should keep your negative feelings to yourself. Having your coworkers join you in complaining about your boss won’t make the problem go away, and if the wrong coworker catches word of what you’re saying, it may get back to your boss in a very unpleasant way. You should especially avoid saying anything negative about your boss to your superiors. This won’t help your reputation. Remember that you want to look like the agreeable person who gets along with everyone, not like the crank who is always complaining about everyone in the office.
    • Anticipate problems before they happen: Another way to improve your relationship with your boss to is to watch out for future problems and try to make them go away before something blows up. Think of it as anticipating the tantrum of a toddler. If you hear your boss begin to fume on the other side of the hallway, you better have prepared something to say to calm him down, or have found a way to stay out of the situation. If you know your boss pretty well, then you should know the kinds of things that set him or her off, and you’d be better off if you came up with a game plan before things exploded. If you know that a coworker is going to introduce a major problem in the office at a meeting, you can talk to your boss about the problem in advance so he or she feels prepared. If you know that your boss is in a foul mood whenever it’s raining and he is stuck in traffic, be prepared for some good news when he or she walks in the door.
    • Work around your boss’s weaknesses: Sure, it may be tempting to exploit your boss’s weaknesses, but that won’t get you very far in your company or your work environment. Instead, work to help your boss to counteract his or her weaknesses so that everything runs more efficiently and with less conflict. If your boss is chronically late to meetings, offer to kick off the next meeting for him or her. If your boss is disorganized, offer to get the next report into shape before you have to present it to your clients. Look for places where you can really help your boss and jump at the opportunity. If you help your boss get things in order, then your relationship will have to improve. Your boss may even be grateful for it.
    • Praise your boss when he or she gets it right: Many managers never receive praise because somehow, it is mistakenly believed that praise should only flow from managers to employees. You may be nervous about approaching your manager to offer advice, but good managers are truly grateful for constructive, useful feedback, and will appreciate any opportunity they get to learn how to do a better job. However, be careful not to flatter a bad boss, because that won’t get you anywhere. Your boss will be impressed at your attempt to make him or her feel more positive about his or her managing style and everything will run more smoothly.

We will continue with part II of this write up next week.

President Buhari's first media chat with journalists.

President Buhari’s first media chat with journalists.

On the 30th of December, 2015, President Buhari had his maiden media chat with the press. I wasn’t satisfied with his performance, although I was impressed with the questions thrown at him by the journalists who questioned him on that night. I would have preferred that Jonathan remained as president. Why you may ask with all the corruption charges against members of his cabinet and his administration. Let me ask you a question, is the APC better off? Nigerians are being misled with this hullabaloo (noise) about corruption against one party. Both parties spent huge amounts of money in advertisements and campaigns during the run-up to the elections in 2015. In fact, the APC outdid the PDP in adverts. Their billboards sprung up weeks and months ahead of the PDP and they were everywhere. Both parties even started campaigns before the selected time by INEC to do so.

Going back to the issue at hand, when the crisis of the removal of oil subsidy by the GEJ administration in 2011 came to a head, I was totally against the GEJ administration and wanted “CHANGE” by all means possible. But with the escalation of the Boko Haram insurgency and the noise being made by the then opposition party and northern elites, against the GEJ administration, I changed my mind and became a staunch supporter of Jonathan. It was plain to see that this was a scheme by the Hausa Fulani’s and Yoruba’s to get rid of the Ijaw man at the helm. It was an ethnic motivated scheme to get rid of GEJ and I hope that the supporters of the present administration who now call supporters of GEJ the “wailing wailers” would understand this.

The media chat with Buhari showed us that we have a president who is there to maintain the foolish statement that Hausa Fulani’s are born to rule and no southern Nigerian has the right to do so, especially those who come from the former eastern region of Nigeria, the Igbo’s and lower Niger basin minorities. Yet the oil that comes from that region is good for Nigeria and we are not good enough to rule this nation and yet these crooks keep telling us that we are one Nigeria. One Nigeria does not exist to me.

How can we have a president who does not know what the CBN is doing to the economy and subjecting Nigerians who want to do business overseas with untold difficulties in doing so? How can we have a president who doesn’t obey court directives and a president who passes judgments in cases he doesn’t preside in? Does he think that these are military tribunals? How can we have a president who promised to give unemployed Nigerian youths N5, 000 monthly and now tells us that these youths need to farm to earn this promised stipend? How can we have a president who is hell bent in fighting corruption and yet does not know the economic direction the country should head at? How can we have a president who asks that a tribe who are agitating for self-determination, to state how they are being marginalized, when he knows how he appointed people to his government?

Yet people who support him will shout blue murder when people criticize Buhari for lacking vision. Is it a most for an non-educated Northerner to rule us? Why can’t northerners like El-Rufai or Atiku rule Nigeria? There are bright young Nigerians in the north who can rule Nigeria. I don’t expect anything from Buhari. He will not take us anywhere. This is a man who lacks vision and if he does, he hasn’t shown it. Maybe the man has an erotic encounter with this obsessed desire to fight corruption. You can’t fight corruption by arresting people up and down and trying to force Nigerians to act right. If we have a government that can efficiently provide workable solutions to the problems affecting Nigerians, we will behave normally. Sometimes I wonder if these fools in government know anything. Even El-Rufai, a staunch supporter of Buhari has started complaining.

Some Muslims travelling with Christians for the Christmas holidays in Kenya, stopped the Somali terrorist group,Al-Shabab, from killing them. The bus they were traveliing in was ambushed along their route from Nairobi, Kenya to the town of Mandera, near the village of El Wak, on the Somali border. The Muslims refused to be separated from the Christians and demanded that they be killed along side the Christians. The terrorists fled after the Muslims prevented the from committing such atrocities. Remember that in April, some terrorists attacked a university and freed Muslims while singling out about 148 Christians and shooting them to death. They also carried out an attack in a shopping mall in 2013, were they also singled out Muslims and murdered Christians too.

    infidelity is gross!

    infidelity is gross!

Men cheat on their women because they want to!  It all boils down to sex. Men do not view sex the same way women do. Women view sexual intercourse as an emotion…… act of love. That’s understandable, considering the fact that you have to lie back and allow a foreign body to enter your body. You have been taught all your life that you only let that kind of deeply intimate moment happen with someone who really means something to you. Men don’t think that way. It’s very easy for a man to have sex, go home, wash it off with soap and water and act like what he just did never happened. Sex can be a purely physical act for us and love has nothing to do with it.

A man can love his wife, his children, his home and the life that they have all built together and have an incredible physical connection to her and still get some sex from another woman without a second thought about it, because sex with the “other” woman, meant nothing to him. He might have felt good at the moment but his heart is with his wife.

Men love sex. All men love sex. Even priests who have professed celibacy, with their manhood’s are still intact. But when a woman denies her man sex, her man will definitely go out to have “some”. You might be tired from work and expect the man to understand that you are tired and keep off from you, especially when you have to do the cooking, feed the family and do the dishes and he comes honking next to you with his erect penis, asking for “some” and you shuuuu him off. He will try to feel better immediately and he will look for that woman that will give him what he wants, if he can’t get it from you.

Most men will cheat on you if he thinks he can get away with it and do everything to make sure you don’t know that he is cheating on you. The man, who doesn’t really care a damn about you, will make sure you know and dare you in your face. Men are defined by who they are what they do and how much we make and if they haven’t gotten to where they want to be, being committed to a woman is completely out of the question. A man might also be married and committed to a woman and have a family and as long as he isn’t right with God, he will cheat on his wife. Being right with God will establish that moral code that will keep him to his wife. As long as that moral code isn’t there, he will be tempted and he will fall.

A man will cheat on his woman, when he discovers that the spark that brought them together is no longer there. Women change when children come along but I don’t think that is necessary. Even when the kids come you don’t need to stop living your life. If you are always protective of your kids, they will become dependent. You don’t need to take of your kids and forget to buy a roll on or perfume, or new clothes and shoes, or have dinner in a fancy restaurant with your man. You need to spice your relationship every second, every minute, ever hour and every day. I am not just talking about the ladies here. Men do neglect themselves too. When the spark is gone, couples tend to cheat on each other.

If there is a lot of argument in the house too, that spark can disappear also. I know a well to do family man who spends most of his time outside the house because his wife never gives him a breathing space at home. He spends time with the guys and you know when some irresponsible men are together, they tend to be adventurous and they can persuade your man to go “have some fun”!

Lastly and very importantly, men will always cheat on their women because the “other” woman is always willing to cheat with him. Men can cheat because there are so many women willing to give themselves to a man who doesn’t belong to them. Some women don’t know that the man they are sleeping with is married but majority of them know.

The greatest mistake a woman will ever do is to confront the “other” woman. The moment you do that, you have lost your self-prestige in the eyes of your man. Do you want to get even with your man? You can simply do this by setting a standard with him. You can either walk out of the relationship or marriage or forgive him and stay in the relationship/marriage and warn him seriously that if it happens again you walk out the door. But you need to set these standards before you enter into the relationship/marriage. When you walk out of the relationship with the kids, he will feel miserable. Some irresponsible men, would hurt you if you do that. Some men will be genuinely miserable and do everything to win you back.

Finally, never fight or confront your man or the “other” woman if you know he cheated on you. Just walk out on him. You have a lot in your life to deal with a man who is unfaithful to you.

Pep Guardiola thinking about his pending move to England next season.

Pep Guardiola thinking about his pending move to England next season.

Pep Guardiola, strongly linked to a move to the Premier League, has told Bayern Munich he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, German media reported on Thursday. The Spaniard’s three-year contract expires next June and Bayern’s head coach has said he will announce “before Christmas” whether he will extend his stay or leave, with Manchester City among the English sides keen to secure his services.

According to German daily Bild, Guardiola gave his decision to Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge “last week”.

The 44-year-old Catalan is in his third year at the helm of the Bavarian giants.

Last month Rummenigge indicated that talks on his future would begin after December 19 “to avoid any Christmas surprise, one way or the other”.

Barcelona daily Sport claimed a month ago that Guardiola had already given his word to former Barca colleagues Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain, now Manchester City’s chief executive and director of football respectively, that he would join them at the Etihad next season.

Bild suggested Guardiola was alive to the danger of out-staying his welcome if he remained at Bayern.

“He is someone who enjoys a challenge. That’s the reason why he joined Bayern in 2013,” the paper said.

Bayern laboured to a 1-0 German Cup win over Darmstadt on Tuesday to book their place in the quarter-finals and keep alive their dreams of winning the treble of Champions League, Bundesliga and cup titles this season.

The Bavarian giants hold a five-point lead in the German league ahead of their final game of 2015 at Hanover 96 on Saturday, but the sense of anticipation is building in the Bayern squad over Guardiola’s impending announcement.

My take on this is that Arsenal should make a move for him and Wenger should step aside just as Alex Ferguson did for Manchester United. Arsenal is the best team for Guardiola to shine in England. Don’t get me wrong, Manchester City is not a classic team to allow Guardiola carry out his “tiki-taka” philosophy. The class of players in Manchester City are not worth it.

Manchester United is the team I think Guardiola will move to rather. Van Gaal is falling out with the club with two low class defeats to Wolfsburg in the Champions League, making the team fall out of that competition and to Bournemouth in the English Premier League last weekend. The club has more prestige than Manchester City.

Let’s wait and see what it’s gonna be!

    hair 3

Having a bad hair day and are you tired of relaxing your hair? You can go natural you know and save money from relaxing your hair. For some ladies, going natural did not stop with their hair.  It continued with a move towards mixing their own “natural” products.  While numerous recipes exist on the internet, few are actually both simple and effective in meeting the needs of our natural hair.  If you are new to making your own products or are a current “mixtress” searching for an easy to make recipe that actually works, you can start with these homemade conditioners:

    1. For Manageability – Bananas, olive oil, glycerin, and honey

This homemade conditioner improves the manageability of your hair for post-rinse styling. The secret is in the banana, which has a way of minimizing shrinkage and softening the hair when mixed with the other ingredients.  Meanwhile, glycerin and honey, which are both humectants, and olive oil, which is known to penetrate the hair, all contribute moisturizing benefits.  Do not be alarmed if you notice a loosening of your coils or curls with this conditioner; the effect is temporary until your next wash day. This recipe is ideal for naturals who want to achieve easier blow-outs or better stretched styles.

    1 large overripe banana (sliced)

4 table spoon extra virgin olive oil

2 table spoon pure vegetable glycerin

    2 table spoon pure honey

Place the sliced banana, extra virgin olive oil, glycerin, and honey all in a blender. Blend the ingredients thoroughly making sure no lumps or banana bits remain. (Depending on your blender quality, you may or may not have to then sieve the mixture.) Apply to hair and let sit for 30-45 minutes under a shower cap. Detangle, rinse thoroughly, and style as usual.

    1. For Detangling – Avocados, olive oil, shea butter, and apple cider vinegar

This homemade conditioner is lubricating, thick, and heavy, moisture, and hang for detangling. The avocado’s meatiness and fatty acid content contribute to the effectiveness of this mixture.  Additionally, the fatty acids in the olive oil combined with the emollient properties of shea butter add even more lubrication and moisturizing benefits.  Lastly, the acidic pH of the apple cider vinegar helps to flatten the cuticles for easier detangling.  This conditioner is ideal for those with thick, dense hair and major shrinkage.

    1 overripe avocado (sliced)

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

    1/2 cup unrefined shea butter

2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

Place the sliced avocado, unrefined shea butter, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), and apple cider vinegar (ACV) into a blender. (There is no need to melt the shea butter ahead of time.)  Blend all the ingredients thoroughly and add more EVOO, if necessary, until the mixture reaches your desired consistency. When done, apply to the hair and let sit for 30-45 minutes under a shower cap. Detangle, rinse thoroughly, and style as usual.

    1. For Strengthening – Coconut oil and honey

This conditioner is ideal for naturals whose hair dislikes protein conditioners but needs a bit of strengthening.  The key is the coconut oil, which binds to the hair thus reducing keratin loss. Honey, a humectant, is also added to the mix to impart moisture retention.  You will get the best of both worlds , moisture and strength, with this conditioner.

4 table spoons of extra virgin coconut oil

2 table spoons of pure honey

(Depending on hair density or length, you may use two servings of this recipe)

Place the coconut oil and honey in a small cup and place the cup in a large bowl of hot water.  Allow the cup to sit in the water for a few minutes until the mixture is warm.  Pour the mixture onto freshly washed but towel blotted hair.  Put on a shower cap, and wrap with a towel to prevent mixture from dripping onto face. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse out 80-90% of the conditioner, and style as usual.

I don’t know why women complain about the men in their lives so much these days. In fact the major conversation among young women these days is about the men in their lives. They want to have all the juicy details of how men treat their friends for gossips sake. They even seek for advice from their friends and this damages their relationship with the men in their lives.

    the game

If a woman or girl complains about the man in her life, you are the problem. The way you let the man come unto you determines how he would treat you. Don’t hate the player, hate the game! When a man approaches you, you are the one with total control over the situation. It is you who would decide if you are going to give the man any of the things he wants from you, including sex. Yes! Men are sexually attracted to women as soon as they see them. Where you stand in a man’s eyes is dictated by your control over the situation. Every word you say, every move you make, every signal you give to a man will help him determine whether he should try to play you, be straight with you

Let me show you how you might have met the man of your dream or someone who is just playing with you.

    1. If his conversation with you is not often serious, he doesn’t take you serious but if he seems interested in your needs, life, desires and future, he is serious with you.
    2. If he is willing to abide by your rules and follows them he is serious with you but if he laughs off your requirements and standards, then he is not serious with you.
    3. If he asks for your number and calls you after a week, he isn’t serious with you. If he instead calls you immediately, he is showing that he is genuinely interested in you.
    4. If a man takes you out on a date and pays the bill, he is showing that he is willing to provide for you, which means that he is serious with you. If not, please run!
    5. If he keeps to appointments with you, he takes you serious. If he doesn’t and he doesn’t even call or text you to let you know the reason why he can’t keep up with the appointment, he isn’t serious with you.
    6. If he introduces you to his friends, family, co-workers (very dangerous, because some insincere friends of his would want to make out with you!), or other people, he is serious with you. If he doesn’t introduce you to his people, he isn’t serious with you.
    7. If you invite him to come see your parents and other family members or your friends and he doesn’t waste time in doing so, he is serious with you but if he gives you excuses from time to time why he can’t, please he isn’t serious with you (I have fallen short of this).
    8. If he makes a face when you tell him that you have children, he isn’t serious with you. But if he is willing to meet them and shows up with gifts for your kids and relates with them in a way that makes your children comfortable with him, he is serious with you.
    9. If he is financially okay and is able to provide for his needs, then you can take him serious. If he isn’t maybe you can give him time to pick himself up but if he doesn’t, you know what to do.
    10. If your man is okay with you seeing other men and he sees other women, a situation you two have an “open” relationship, he is not serious with you. If he insists on having an “exclusive” relationship, were the two of you only date each other, he is very serious with you.

Recently, the Kogi State governorship elections were declared inconclusive in 91 polling units, with the APC governorship candidate in the lead, but unfortunately, he died on the 22nd of November, 2015. INEC now offered the APC to replace their late candidate. The APC replaced their candidate with Yahaya Bello, of which the late candidate’s running mate was against it. The PDP also demanded that since the late candidate of the APC died, and the election was declared inconclusive, even though the run-off elections in the 91 polling units were to hold on the 5th of December, their candidate, the sitting governor of Kogi State, should be declared the winner. I don’t know much about law but since the run-off elections have been held and the APC has been declared the winner of the concluded election, and it’s candidate died a natural death, his deputy or running mate, should replace him. What if the candidate was sworn in and after some months or years, he dies, won’t his running mate or deputy governor, be sworn in as governor?

The late Audu (l) and his running mate James Faleke

The late Audu (l) and his running mate James Faleke

Audu's son, Yahaya Bello who has been declared winner of the 2015 Kogi governorship election.

Audu’s son, Yahaya Bello who has been declared winner of the 2015 Kogi governorship election.

    This is what Section 181 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution as Amended states;

    181. (1) If a person duly elected as Governor dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him as Deputy governor shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be appointed by the Governor with the approval of a simple majority of the House of Assembly of the State.

    (2) Where the persons duly elected as Governor and Deputy Governor of a State die or are for any reason unable to assume office before the inauguration of the house of Assembly, the Independent National Electoral Commission shall immediately conduct an election for a Governor and Deputy Governor of the State.

So the APC has fallen short of the law in our constitution and should be disqualified from the election and therefore, the PDP candidate should be declared the winner. Just because of some tribal sentiment, we fall short of the law. This played out after the death of the late president Yar’adua (MHSRIP), were northern oligarch’s refused to allow the then vice-president, Goodluck Jonathan, to be sworn in as president. The APC, who offered us change, has fallen short of their promise to Nigerians. This is totally unacceptable from them. This is a matter of the elections tribunal to decide and I hope they will do what is necessary by upholding the constitution.

dickson and sylva, main candidates for the bayelsa governorship elections

dickson and sylva, main candidates for the bayelsa governorship elections

Also, the Bayelsa State elections were held on the 5th of December, 2015 and INEC, yet again declared the elections inconclusive due to the violence in the southern ijaw l.g.a with the current governor and PDP governorship candidate in the lead. The APC candidate and his party are already crying blue murder but following the trend on twitter, one can say that the APC planned to rig that election with security operatives. INEC will declare a run off election in that local government area and I hope they will do the right thing.

    APC vs PDP

    APC vs PDP

That is why I am in support of banning party or partisan politics in Nigeria. We need to accept independent candidates only. If we had several candidates who are not affiliated to any party, Nigerians will be free to choose the candidate of their choice and not a few forced unto them. If the leading candidate does not win with at least a 50-60% majority, we will then have a run-off election between the two or three leading candidates at the poll. We won’t also have a ruling or opposition party in our national assembly and the executives would have to ensure that they persuade the assembly to approve or pass their bills into law. This will reduce the shenanigans we see in the political stage in Nigeria to the barest minimum.

Join my page,, and support the quest to ban party politics in Nigeria.

leader of the IPOB (indigenous people's of biafra) group, Nnamdi Kanu

leader of the IPOB (indigenous people’s of biafra) group, Nnamdi Kanu

Just stop right there if you are Yoruba or Hausa-Fulani! Do you think I will sell off my brother?! You goofed really bad! I have never listened to Nnamdi Kanu or Radio Biafra and I never supported the agitation for the realization of Biafra. But my mind is changing. I will support the Indigenous People of Biafra movement on one ground. That the replace the agitation for the actualization for the defunct Biafran state with RESOURCE CONTROL!!!

The late Ikemba Nnewi made a disastrous mistake in plunging the former South-Eastern region, later called Biafra into a catastrophic war, that should not have taken place. We lost the war but also lost our oil and gas resources to the Northerners and Westerners. The then head of state during and after the war, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, launched the so-called “3-R’s!” campaign, which meant Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction. You can see that there has never been a reconciliation between the Igbo and the rest of Nigeria. The Igbo’s are the most despised people or tribe in Nigeria. Since 1981, eleven years after the war, they have been murdered in their numbers. I was born in Kaduna and I witnessed first hand the wickedness of these irate northern killers. My family and I fled the north in 1987. I was a child then. The northerners held power then and we don’t know why they have been doing this. Nobody is prosecuted and the go scot-free. Are Igbo’s, Nigerians if you kill them and destroy what they labored for, of which the government didn’t assist them in establishing.

    President Buhari

    President Buhari

Secondly, the Igbo’s and Niger Delta people were not rehabilitated in any way. Families in the former eastern region who survived the war were given 20 pounds and even if your family had a thousand, million or billion pounds in the bank, you lost the money. This evil enabled the Igbo’s not to invest in any company that was indigenized or localized in Nigeria in 1971. Some kind westerner’s and northerner’s gave some Igbo business men and women money to re-start their businesses and not invest in these localized companies. Check the list of major companies in Nigeria and you will see that only a few Igbo’s are on the board of directors list of those companies. Till today, there has not been any reconstruction done in the east since the end of the civil war. Rather, reconstruction was done in Lagos, a region that did not witness any violence of any kind except the murder of Igbo’s in the pogroms of 1966-1967. They had roads, third mainland bridge, national stadium, national theater built for them after the war, with resources gotten mainly from the Niger Delta.

Crude oil is shipped out from Onne deep sea port in the Niger Delta region on a daily basis to major refineries owned by Yoruba and Hausa fulani businessmen and women and shipped back into the country through Lagos which it’s ports are not deep. Most of the large ship dock deep into the ocean. Why don’t these ships return the refined products through these seaports? Major international and local oil companies have their headquarters in Lagos. Does Lagos produce oil? Why is there a refinery in Kaduna? Does Kaduna or the whole Northern region produce oil? Fuel sells for #300/liter in Yenegoa and #87/liter in Lagos. Is that not injustice of the highest order? Fuel scarcity is not biting in the north as it is biting in the south because they have been diverting huge amounts of fuel and other petroleum products up north. If this is not injustice, I wonder what is!

I do not support the importation of foreign products one bit but the Igbo’s have no choice to import them because the recalcitrant Nigerian government run by the Hausa’s and Yoruba’s make things difficult for them. The Igbo’s can manufacture and produce these goods in Nigeria but these insecure Nigerians will do everything to frustrate them in their endeavors. If it is not unrealistic money policies being carried out by the Central Bank of Nigeria, it is unrealistic economic policies being adopted by Yoruba’s and Hausa’s in power, even if the party in power is being supported by the Igbo’s.

In 2011, the north did not vote for Jonathan and yet he appointed northerners into his cabinet and gave them major appointments, yet Buhari stepped in, removed the food in the mouths of Igbo’s and Niger Deltan people and gave it to his brothers and sister’s, the Hausa Fulani’s. If he took these appointments and gave it to Igbo’s and Niger Delta people who are members of his party, do you think Igbo’s would be agitating for Biafra today?! Buhari and his kinsmen, together with the Yoruba’s have an evil agenda for the Igbo’s and Niger Delta people who are not in support of their party. The audio conversation between a Yoruba politician and his alhaji friend on phone, is evidence to this and it has been carried out by Buhari.

Coming back to Nnamdi Kanu, he goofed by not meeting Igbo, Niger Delta and Middle Belt leaders of thought to gain their support in this quest. He also should have met with other groups in Igbo land and the Niger Delta and the Middle Belt region and formed a coalition with them. We need to control our resources coming out of our regions. The Yoruba’s and Hausa’s can control the federal government for all I care but we must control our resources. If we control our resources and go back to the revenue sharing formula we had back in 1960-1967, the people stealing from the eastern region will stop it. And if we must remain as one country, we must have rotational presidency in Nigeria and the Igbo’s will start it in 2019. Partisan politics must be banned in Nigeria and only independent candidates should vie for political positions. We must also have a single term of 7 years for all elected officers, from the president to the councilor. If I were Nnamdi Kanu, I won’t make the mistake proud and selfish Ojukwu did that cost the lives of millions of Igbo’s and Niger Delta people. Nnamdi Kanu, with the education he claims he has, is already making a mistake and if innocent Igbo citizens are murdered in this quest, let their blood be on his head!

Are you tired of cooking the same types of soups, week in, week out? For a fact, I am also tired of eating the same type of soups also. So I was browsing through the internet and found this new recipe, of which I know a lot of Nigerians haven’t tasted and decided to share it with you. I love soup. I love eating soup. We like to take other things like pounded yam, cassava (garri, fufu) and semo or amala with it. But I’d rather prefer eating soups alone because they are nutritious. Hmmmmmmmmm…………………… taste buds are going crazy here mennnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

curried chicken and wild rice soup. looks so tasty and yummy!

curried chicken and wild rice soup. looks so tasty and yummy!

Below is a recipe and directions on how to cook curried chicken and wild rice soup. I will cook it this weekend to see how it takes. Also remember to follow me to know when I will post more recipes for you and your loved ones.

    1 cup uncooked wild rice
    1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium white onion, peeled and diced
2 large carrots, diced (about 1 cup)
2 stalks celery, diced (about 1 cup)
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
    4 cups good-quality chicken stock
    3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
    2 teaspoons curry powder*
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    1/4 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
1 (14-ounce) can coconut milk (**see note below)
optional garnishes: chopped fresh cilantro, crushed red pepper flakes, shredded coconut

Begin by cooking your wild rice. Stir together the wild rice and 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan until combined. Cover and heat over medium-high heat until boiling. Then reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer (covered) for 40-45 minutes until the rice is cooked and tender. Strain out any extra water, and remove from heat.

While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a (separate) large stockpot over medium-high heat. Add the onion, carrots and celery and cook for 6-7 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent, stirring occasionally. Add the garlic, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant, stirring occasionally. Add the chicken stock, chicken, curry powder, bay leaf, cumin, salt and pepper, and stir to combine. Stir in the coconut milk until combined. Continue to cook until the soup reaches a simmer. Then reduce heat to medium-low, cover partially with a lid, and let the mixture simmer until the rice is ready.

Once the rice is cooked, stir it into the soup until combined. Remove the bay leaf. Then taste the soup, and season with extra salt and pepper if needed.

Serve warm, topped with optional garnishes if desired.

    come and eat!

    come and eat!

Note, you can prepare your coconut milk by shredding coconut and sieving it with water, to get the milk.

Jamie Vardy of Leicester City has been on a goal scoring rampage and he has scored 13 goals and has also scored in every match in this 2015/2016 EPL season. This weekend Leicester City welcomes Manchester United to the King Power stadium were Leicester city humiliated Manchester United 5-3 after Man Utd had come 3-1 up. Leicester City top the EPL with 28 points, one point ahead of Manchester United and this is the top of the table match. If Leicester City wins this match, it will show how serious they are to win the EPL this season. Manchester United failed to beat PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League match and the game ended in a scoreless draw. They were very lucky to win their game against Watford, were they had to wait till the end of the game to win the match 2-1. I hope Man Utd wins but I think it will end in a scoreless draw and Jamie Vardy’s run of scoring in every match will end, I hope. Leicester City will then play several difficult games to Swansea, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City. It seems the honeymoon is about to end!

leicester city players celebrate one of their goals against manchester united last season. will they be doing that again?

leicester city players celebrate one of their goals against manchester united last season. will they be doing that again?

Chelsea lost 5-3 to Tottenham Hot Spurs at white hart lane last season. This will be a difficult game for Chelsea. Tottenham are in fine form. They beat West Ham 4-1 last week and won their UEFA Cup game on thursday. Chelsea are also in fine form too. They won their game against Norwich City at the bridge before winning their game in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. This will be an exciting London derby game.

will in-form harry cane dent chelsea's image in their london derby?

will in-form harry cane dent chelsea’s image in their london derby?

Manchester City will hope to recover from their humiliating defeat to Liverpool at the Ethihad last week and also their loss to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League. But Southampton won’t be an easy game for them. Liverpool will host Swansea City on Sunday. Klopp’s men have two wins this week against Manchester City and Bordeaux of France in the UEFA Cup.

Arsenal, my favorite English team, will travel to Norwich City for their game against Norwich. I was pissed off last week when Arsenal lost to West Brom 2-1, with an own goal by Arteta and Carzola missing a penalty John Terry style. Mikel Arteta and Francis Coquelin will both be out for the game. Arsenal have recovered from that loss to West Brom after they beat Dynamo Zagreb 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League, with Sanchez and Ozil scoring. I hope they win because I will loose my mind if they loose.

    All the matches are as follows below;

    Saturday 28 November, 2015.

    AFC Bournemouth vs Everton

    Aston Villa vs Watford,

    Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United

    Manchester City vs Southampton

    peace of god

The peace of God is always represented in an image of a white dove. This bird is said to be gentle.

For a fact, I am not religious one bit but I do believe in God just like everybody. We have religious fanatics all over the world and one can’t trust them easily. You see people who think that they know God more than you do and they can easily lead you astray if you let them. A lot of Christians now worship their pastors and priests than God. The same thing with Muslims and their Imams. But I always like to be one with God. I just started practicing to do so. Here, let me show you how.

    • Be calm.

To be God, lower your ever-rising thoughts, and become calm. This can be done by deep breathing, watching the breath, yogic exercises (I am very lazy at this), meditation, and performing actions with a sense of complete surrender without expecting any fruits and rewards, etc

    • Empty your thoughts.

When the entire mind becomes thought-less, and at the same time, extremely alert and aware, you are one with the whole creation or God. I still find this very difficult to do.

    • Realize that there is only one entity, and that entity is omnipresent.

This means being present always, everywhere at all times, in each cell and pore of your body, your body in all materials, in animals, plants, rocks, rivers, everything and everywhere and all gross things including matter and energy are manifestations of this one entity, and that entity which is labelled as God is in everyone and everything will create pure, non-business, desire-less love.

    • Quieten the mind.

The easiest way to quieten the mind is doing very deep breathing for at least 10-15 minutes. One can breathe through each and every emotion, be it anger, love, hate, anything and transcend it and become calm and experience pure joy or bliss. Very easy to do and I tell you it has helped me a lot. You can try it.

    • Watch your emotions.

Emotions are nothing but sensations in some part of the body. Quietly watch these sensations, and the emotions will dissolve, and give way to pure love. Be a witness of your emotions and actions always, rather than becoming the actions and emotions. With this practice, you will be in pure joy or bliss in a short time whatever the external circumstances. God is nothing but pure love and bliss.

You don’t need to be overly religious to be one with God. God is peace and when you are at peace with your mind, body and soul, my sister and brother you are one with God. Hope this touched you in a positive way?

France has declared a state of emergency, closing it’s borders after 120 to 150 people got killed in a late night attack on Friday 13th, 2015, by Islamic terrorists linked to IS better known as the Islamic State.

People were shot dead at bars and restaurants at five other sites in Paris. Eight attackers are reported to have been killed.

Early in January, Paris also saw 3 days of attacks when Islamist gunmen murdered 18 people after attacking satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, a Jewish supermarket and a police woman on patrol.

    The attack sites include:
    – La Casa Nostra restaurant, gun attack,
    – La Belle Equipe, gun attack,
    – Left Petit Cambodge restaurant, gun attack,
    – Stade de France, St Denis, explosions near venue as France played Germany in a friendly match.
    – Bataclan concert venue, gun and suicide bomb attacks.

I knew this was coming and more attacks will occur across Europe as the days go by. With the current wave of Arab immigrants pouring into Europe on a daily basis, I think it is completely stupid for Europe to accept the trojan horse/Greek gift offered them by the conflict instigated by the United States since their twin invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan after the 9-11-2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the unrest in Arab states following the Arab Spring revolution from 2009.

We will have more attacks in Europe and they need to prepare for the worst. My heart goes to France and this affects the hosting of the Euro 2016 Football Championships next summer. One of the attacks happened just outside the stadium France beat Brazil 3-0 to win the 1998 FIFA World Cup Finals hosted by France that same year. France was hosting Germany in an international friendly match at the time the attacks was going on. French President François Hollande was in attendance and he later went to the concert venue where he declared a state of emergency.

May the souls of the victims rest in peace!

julius agwu granting an interview with tvc

After watching Julius Agwu’s interview with TVC on, I must confess that I am not impressed at all. I know he had a near death experience with brain tumor early this year but he should remember that there are a lot of unfortunate souls around the world who do not have access to quality health services all over the world today, let alone in Nigeria. He should be thankful to God that he had a successful surgery and should pray that the tumor does not grow back.

julius agwu after his successful surgery in houston, texas, u.s.a

julius agwu after his successful surgery in houston, texas, u.s.a

Julius Agwu lost consciousness and was rushed to a hospital in Texas, USA in June or July, 2015. He had a successful surgery and we thank God he is alive. But my take on this issue is that he was a bit arrogant and too serious about his new found faith. When a phone rang, he was arrogant and ordered someone in that room to answer the phone. When he was told who called, he responded harshly. Then he started mentioning names of his colleagues who were disloyal to him. This disloyalty brings to mind Chris Brown’s song, ‘gals ain’t loyal” and it clearly shows how angry he is with them. Teju Babyface gives Ali Baba the credit for giving him the opportunity to establish his career but Julius Agwu maintains that he was the one who gave him the opportunity. He also insists that he gave Basket Mouth his opportunity too. Maybe he might be right, but must you overstate it? Afterall the person you claim to ardore so much, Jesus Chris healed ten leapers but only one came back to thank him. Do you know how it feels to be rejected by your own people and then killed by them? Yet Jesus did not hold any grudges (as they claim) and he forgave his transgressors. Julius people will hold you down and pray for your downfall but God has given you the grace to use his name and glorify him yet you hold grudges. Na wah! Wetin you won preach sef?!

Below are 10 punchlines from the explosive interview.

    1. The devil locks everywhere, even my books and DVDs don’t sell anymore.
    2. Nobody dey gree market am for ‘Alaba’ market.
    3. I release album, e no dey sell.
    4. ‘Ayeni The Great’ refused to pick my calls, I begged him to be my publicist but he refused
    5. I gave Basketmouth his first opportunity to perform on stage in Lagos
    6. Na me first bring Timaya and Duncan Mighty come Lagos
    7. I met Banky W in New York and advised him to come home
    8. I met Don Jazzy and Dbanj at JJC’s studio in London and advised them to also relocate but today none of them gives me credit, na Devil tie their mouth.
    9. I gave Teju Babyface his first opportunity as well, back when he was still in Unilag
    10. God is doing a new thing in my life Devil wants to steal our Industry, but we will not allow it, that’s why I’m starting a new campaign called CEO (Christian Entertainers Outreach)….

Watch the full interview here; and tell me what you think.

The Christmas holiday period is upon us again. Most of us who have been saving our hard earned money all through the year would use most of it to travel down to our villages to see the same people we see every year end. Don’t you think this is the most boring thing we do all year round? Why don’t you spice up your vacation by going to some where you have never been before or do something you have never dared doing in your life(please not the harmful one!).

You can take a vacation to someplace relaxing like a hotel in calabar. Remember the have this famous calabar carnival they do every by the end of the year. You can go partying, sightseeing, visit the beach or take a walk in a game or forest reserve.

Are you in a relationship, newly married, or you are having a strain in your relationship, this is the best period for you to strengthen your relationship and maybe make one or two babies you know (winks). But you need an exquisite environment to be alone and not the usual spot you guys shared all year long. If you have kids, you can travel with them too and have family bonding. It’s spiritual and fulfilling. Yeah I know money might be the problem here but I promise you that I am gonna make a research to help you make the best and most affordable choices this coming holidays.

    Happy holidays in advance people!

    President Buhari

    President Buhari

It’s been approximately six month’s since President Buhari took over power on May 29, 2015. Since then, the Nigerian economy has become very unhealthy due to the fact that the present government is yet to have its cabinet of ministers, even though the senate has confirmed and submitted the list of confirmed ministers to the president. The war against Boko Haram seems not to abate, crime has increased in major cities in the country and now we have an agitation for an independent state of Biafra which the country doesn’t need now. Yet the current president doesn’t seem to be bothered. He seems to be more concerned about corruption.

Don’t get me wrong. If we must progress as a nation, we must tackle corruption. But must you fight corruption and allow the country to deteriorate. The best way to define this administration is to depict the current president as a captain of a boat, filled with rats and the boat is a approaching a huge waterfall. The boat approaches the waterfall, the captain is seen to be shouting about the rats left behind by the former captain on his boat and ignoring the fact that the boat is heading down hill.

A captain of a ship steers his ship to safety and ensures it arrives safely. But it wrecks, he goes down with it. Ask the captain of the Titanic. President Buhari should know this. If you must fight corruption, you mustn’t concentrate on one administration alone or else you will be perceived as being selective. Oh by the way, the president insisted that he doesn’t give a damn what people thought and that he would do everything to bring the members of the last regime to book for corrupt practices. To me that’s hypocrisy at it’s fullest. After all, members of his “noisemakers/thank you” cabinet are also alleged to be corrupt, so who is fooling who! Past governments, especially that of ex-president Obasanjo, are also guilty of corruption. Strive Masiyiwa has revealed how corrupt that administration was. Abacha’s loot is still being recovered till this day.

President Buhari must do everything to unite Nigerians. He seems to have worsened the case by hiring majority of his Hausa-Fulani kinsmen and placing them in important positions and making a crazy statement of 5% constituency who didn’t vote for him. Now those 5% minority are agitating to have their own country. Anybody who has any hope from this listless government is wasting his time.

a man loving up his woman

a man loving up his woman

Men are different from women. Men a simple creatures. It doesn’t take much to make a man happy. A man basically needs three things from his woman which are support, loyalty and sex!

    • SUPPORT.

Men need to feel important even when they are not. Things are hard these days. There are a few resources for so many people and competition is high out there. When a man comes home he expects his woman, wife or girlfriend to encourage him even if he doesn’t bring home the bread. But most women theses days will complain about the little their men gives them because they want to be better than their friends. A woman who appreciates the little her man gives her, will eventually get more from him when the going gets good. When the man discovers that his woman appreciates the little he gives her and makes him feel good about it, even if the item is little, he will do more to give her more and show his appreciation and love. Men are proud. So ladies, if the little your man is not enough, make him feel good. If he gives you N1,000 when you need N3,000, appreciate him and let him know how grateful you are. Believe you me, he will make show he gives you more than the remaining money the next day before he allows you to look for another man to give it to you.

    • LOYALTY.

A man needs his woman to be loyal to him and only him. Women also need their men to be loyal to them but you see, our loyalty is different from yours. A woman won’t take it likely when her man cheats on her. Some men cheat on their women because the other woman has more money but the main reason a man cheats on his woman is sex. Women cheat on men because the man might not or in fact can not meet their needs and then they go after they go after men who can. A woman can also be with a man who is wealthy but will cheat on him if he can not sexually satisfy her. More than 70 percent of women will cheat on their men if they are not well to do. Only 30 percent of women would cheat on their men if they are not sexually satisfied by their men. So we need a woman who will not abandon us even if we are broke or not well hung like mandigo or king kong.

    • SEX.

All men like sex. Even priests! Any man who says sex is not important in a relationship, is a god damn liar. Sex might not be important to you women because you think the man wants to take you for a ride but it is really important. Sex is important to women too but again it is not the same way it is to men as it is to women. We want sex most of the time, while women want it from a guy who might be well hung or a man who can hit their g-spot like crazy and make them cum and cum every damn minute. Some women deny their men sex because they might have had a hard day at work and home. Don’t deny your man sex, he might foolishly look for another woman who would give it to him immediately. And if you are a man that does this kind of thing, stop it and help your woman in doing her chores and she will be more than willing to give it to you. Sex is a spiritual thing and I don’t mean it in a religious way. It is the best way to bond with a man or woman.

So if you are a woman and you desire a man, you need to give him these three things and if you don’t, believe you me, he will leave you for another woman. If a woman gives me these three things, especially when I come back from a hard days work which might not be so fruitful, I will be ready to go out there and fight the most difficult battles until I win.

Guys if you really want to capture lady’s heart and you are finding it difficult to do so, you need to learn what a woman needs from her man. Women need only four types of men in their lives. Yeah I said 4. The need a man who can be their father, servant, gossip partner and sex machine all at once. If you are a man and you want to keep that girl or improve your relationship with your wife, you better start learning how to be all the four men I just listed.

    father and duaghter

    father and duaghter

Ever noticed how girls are closely attached to their fathers? Most girls have a strong relationship with their fathers more than their mothers. I don’t know why but I know so. I am not saying that they do not have any relationship with their mothers. They do in fact have strong relationships with their mothers but it is stronger with their fathers. A father protects his family and more so, the females in his household. Boys are always taught to be strong and be protective of their kind. All fathers will protect their daughters and get them any thing they ask for as long as they can afford it. They treat their girls as princesses. So a woman is looking for a man who can be her lover and father at once. Someone who can provide for her and protect her. So if you are a man and you have not been able to do this, it’s important you learn how to do so. She will love you indefinitely.

    man doing the dishes

    man doing the dishes

Some man do not like helping out in taking care of the house. They leave everything for the woman to do. The woman will clean the house, wash the dishes and do the laundry. She will also go shopping while her man will just sit down and watch her serve him. She will cook for him and serve him his meal. The days we did that has passed. If you are a man, you need to assist your wife in house chores. There are days she might come back into the house tired and weak and you will still expect her to do the dishes, cook for you and wash your clothes. Mennnnnnn…………………………if you are doing this you need to stop it immediately. If you assist your wife in doing the chores, she will love you. If you get your kids to assist in doing the house chores rather than hiring a house help, your kids will grow up to be more responsible.

    man chatting with woman

    man chatting with woman

Ever noticed that women love talking about irrelevant things that don’t bother us. They talk about fashion, nollywood movies, men, their girlfriends, and anything under the sun. I can tell you the truth, I don’t know how to put up with that. But it is important you try your best to pay attention to her at all times even when you don’t want to because if you don’t, she will go out and look for her girlfriends to chat with or even meet another man who will pay attention to her and we all know what that could lead to.

    mandigo (stud) man

    mandigo (stud) man

Yes, she needs a man who can give it to her like its hot. A man who can tickle her fancy. A man who can stimulate her g-spot like no other man can. A man who can make her be eager for more sexual satisfaction. If you can’t do this you need to learn how to. I know several men who have lost their relationships because they could not satisfy their women sexually. Let me tell you the truth, this one hurts more, when a woman tells you, “you’re not man enough!” A woman is ready to be with you come rain, come shine, even if you are so poor, as long as you can do the do-do! So learn. Some girls like it hot and rough. Some girls like it soft and long and then hot. You need to be patient and learn how to satisfy your woman sexually. Don’t be a “wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am!” dude. Be a god damn mandingo (stud).

Arsenal will have a fixture away to Super Eagles Odion Ighalo’s team Watford, at the Vicarage Road venue on Saturday 17th October by 5.30pm Nigerian time (17.30 G.M.T). Watford’s Odion Ighalo scored in the 3-0 friendly match against Cameroun in Belgium last Sunday. Sanchez scored against Brazil and Peru in the South American FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers. Giroud, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlian also scored for France and England respectively. So all was fair for Arsenal and Watford strikers during the international break. We will have a good match on Saturday and I hope Arsenal would keep up the momentum after the big win against Manchester United and before the away fixture to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League next week.

Odion Ighalo and Alexis Sanchez have both scored five goals each, while Petr Cech has the best save percentage in the EPL this current season at 82% and 5 saves per match. Watford is 12th on the table with 10 points, while Arsenal is second with 16 points after 8 matches each.

In other matches, Spurs host Liverpool and Liverpool now have a new team manager in Jurgen Klopp who last managed Borussia Dortmund in Germany. This will be his first test in the EPL. Klopp would have done better managing Arsenal than Liverpool. Liverpool plays a boring type of football to me and I wonder how Klopp would manage trying to convert their playing pattern to that of Borrusia Dortmund. The fixture is an early morning fixture and will be played at the White Hart Lane Stadium by 1.45pm Nigerian time (12.45 G.M.T).

Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho has been given a suspended one-match stadium ban and fined 50,000 British Pounds by the Football Association for saying that referees don’t give Chelsea penalties. But come on, why should the ban take effect only when he says this kind of thing again? Besides he has been making unnecessary comments since this season began. He talks too much and his team is 10 points behind Manchester City. Chelsea will host Aston Villa by 3pm (15.00 G.M.T) at the bridge and I hope the international break would help the players regain their form.

Another match coming up on Saturday is the match between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park. Everton has not conceded to Manchester United at home in three straight home matches and three straight seasons. Everton might be difficult for Manchester United but new boy, Antonio Martial had a man of the man match for France in the 2-0 victory against Denmark. Valencia also scored for Ecuador in their World Cup qualifying match to make a case to be starting for United. I hope Van Gaal fields him.

Manchester City will host Bournemouth at the Ethihad stadium and I have a good feeling that City will win. They will be without Aguero who scored five stunning goals against Newcastle United and Sylvia. Both matches (Everton/Man U and Man C/Bournemouth) will come up by 3pm or 15.00 G.M.T.

Would You Date Someone from Another Tribe or Race?

I am a Nigerian and I am an Igbo man from the South Eastern part of my country. I was born in the Northern part of Nigeria and now live in the most populous city in Nigeria, Lagos. I once dated a yoruba girl. Actually she is mixed in tribe. Her father was yoruba and her mum is from Delta State. We aren’t seeing each other anymore. Did I enjoy dating her? I don’t think I did. She didn’t meet my expectations in a lady intellectually.

I have a female friend who dated and married a yoruba guy. She is igbo. I kept asking her why she left igbo guys to spend the rest of her life with a man who isn’t from her tribe. She accused me of being a tribalist. But truth be told, she felt comfortable with the man. Now they are happily married. Do you know how many igbo guys who must have broken her heart and dissapointed her when she tried dating them?

Due to the ethnic differences in Nigeria, only a few Nigerians have the courage to date and eventually get maried to people from other tribes or ethnic groups. I haven’t seen an igbo man marry a muslim hausa fulani woman. Due to the religious difference between the two tribes, that can never happen because no muslim in the north would want his or her daughter to get married to a christian man, especially if he is igbo. Igbo men get married to northern christian women. Igbo women have are known to have married hausa fulani muslim men. Some of them convert to islam.

Down south of Nigeria, we inter-marry. Yoruba men marry igbo women, igbo men marry yoruba women. Same as other tribes in the southern part of Nigeria. But they aren’t much.

While watching the American sitcoms, Black-ish and Dear White People, I discovered the discrepancies in having an interracial marriage or having light skinned kids. The kids suffer most here. They don’t know who they belong with. Let’s take for example the former president of the United States, Barack Obama. Till today they still debate if he is an American or not because his father was Kenyan and his mother was a white woman. Even African Americans say that he isn’t a true black man.

But do people of different races show interest in dating people who don’t belong to their race? Yes. I do want to meet Asian and Latino women. I like them. I also love white women. As long as she isn’t skinny and have small breasts.

Would I want to get married to a woman who isn’t from my tribe here in Nigeria? I don’t know. If she knows how to cook our dishes maybe I will. Would I want to date women other African countries? Yes I do. Especially from South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Gambia and some North African countries.

So can you date someone who isn’t from your tribe, race or country? Let’s talk.
